If you haven't been able to guess from the name, 1st Reddit (aka RB, 1RB, the Brigade, reddit) is formed out of users of and based on the website reddit. You can visit us at

History
The Brigade was founded shortly after
this reddit post of May 3, 2011 (Thank you, CHKilroy). By the next day (the official date of foundation of the Brigade), the Steam group had over 100 people on it, and reddit's first LB happened soon thereafter. It was a massive rabble of disorganised peasants. Over the following months, the regiments as they stand today would be founded. The Brigade is an utterly ahistorical collection of people. Initially, we were to be a Russian brigade (which is why the leaders were once named Commissars), but then everyone decided that the UK was cooler.
Hundreds have come and gone from our ranks over the last three years, and still we stand strong. We have seen our fair share of scorn and disrespect (not entirely unearned), but also friendship and love. Today, the subreddit stands at over 3500 subscribers, and, as of late summer 2014, we bring on average 50 people to our events, with many more waiting in the wings for the occasional special events we put on.
The Regiments
- Garrett's First and Only (F01): The strong, the proud, the brave. These men fight with valor and honor.
- Hammerd 42nd (H42): Once known for being drunkenly incompetent, today the 42nd excels at sober incompetence and getting shot by howitzers.
- Royal 60th (R60): Some of the most skilled and most serious of our players, their small numbers allow these men to perform guerrilla attacks behind enemy lines, often dying gloriously in a hail of musketballs.
- Eurotic 77th (E77): The renascent European regiment. Flying goose formations, snaking battle lines, and yumping are some of its proud traditions hailing back to the time of Shenanigans' captainship.
- Grizzly 95th (G95): Their glorious, full beards seem to fuel a deep urge to troll and mess around. Despite its reputation, the 95th is one of the best-performing lines that the Brigade fields.
- 22nd Dropbears (D22): This regiment for Aussies and Kiwis is probably dead, but its name is terrifying.

- H42: Diadem, a modern Sun Tzu and metal magnet, known for being victim to cross-map headshots and attracting howizter and cannon rounds to his line.

How to join us
Go to the subreddit, read the basics in the sidebar, message a captain if a particular regiment suits you. If not, show up, run with some regiments, pick one if you want. You can choose to remain unaffiliated with any specific regiment.
Come to practice, or don't. The Brigade is a no-commitment organisation. Come when you feel like it, don't when you don't. All we ask is that you join us in teamspeak (found on the subreddit) and have more or less the correct tags:

Join our
Steam group, though note that we only use it for Steam announcements before events. All other activity is on the subreddit and our teamspeak.
We currently attend the venerable
North American Hardcore Linebattle, hosted by the wonderful Prussian Army. Training is every Wednesday, and we have other events (in NW or other games/mods), announced or unannounced here and there. Specific dates and times can be found on the subreddit, as well as everything else about us you could possibly want to know.
