                                                                                              Information

The 20th Västerbotten Regiment founded on 8/15/2020.  This is when the regiment officially formed as an independent entity under a new name, instead of the meme name KGB.  Led by Kapten Stryker, many of the original members from July 2018 have shown stryker that his leading is still worthy and that their support and love for the regiment is still there. With new faces here and there, this is a fresh chance for the 20thVR regiment members to find a nice balance to continue supporting the public events and comp community.

With a respectable attendance for a 2020 regiment, this new 20thVr is on the rise.  Near the end of the old RSL and KGB lifespan, the regiment took on a more balance focus that started to overshadow what most of the RSL was a Competitive Regiment .

The regiment has its origins in fänikor (companies) raised in Västerbotten in the 1550s and 1560s. In 1615, these units—along with fänikor from the nearby provinces of Ångermanland, Medelpad, Hälsingland and Gästriklandwere organised by Gustav II Adolf into Norrlands storregemente, of which seven of the total 24 companies were recruited in Västerbotten. Norrlands storregemente consisted of three field regiments, of which Västerbotten Regiment was one. Sometime around 1624, the grand regiment was permanently split into three smaller regiments, of which Västerbotten Regiment was one.
