This is beyond nitpicking, this is being an arse.
I fully understand wanting to preserve the essence of RGT, that is the "regimental" aspect of the tournament, but this is epic jock. I have really never see cela. Can you not simply agree that you can't realistically appreciate what it is to be "fully devoted" to a regiment ? Because every reg does bend that rule to an extent.
I mean isn't being "fully devoted" to a participating regiment simply wanting the said regiement to win ? Because I think it does.
I feel the 2 week rule is only there to prove one's engagement over a long period of time of a player's devotedness, wheras in truth, it only makes the whole "rmt - recruitment" start 2 weeks prior to the tournament.
Now it's to an extent where you're measuring a player's investment by his adhesion to a steamchat or group ? Wtf is this overly rigorous and completely unirelevant process for a completely irelevant tournament on a dead game ? I'll say it again : this is more than just nitpicking, this is taking a game way too seriously and being a complete arse about it.
It's the admin's decision in the end, and I'll still be happy to play and still give my thanks to the organizers for dealing with everybody's shit. But don't stoop as low as trying to find private steam conversations. Since when is joining a steamgroup an essential condition for being in a regiment ? That is the dumbest thing I've heard in a while. I'd rather let people play rather than fight about it with wonky arguments for 15 pages on fse and setting a really bad mood for the tournament.
