Does anyone know where I can find ranks for the American army during the War of 1812? I'm trying to research the structure and promotion policies of the US military of the time and can't really find any sources about it. If you have it for British and Canadians too, that would be awesome so I can see the contrast and similarities of the militaries of the time.

Does anyone know where I can find ranks for the American army during the War of 1812? There aren't many sources for US Ranks during the war and I have a website that gives a nice visual of them (I'll edit my post when I find it) but for British and Canadians, this would probably be the best source for Rank Insignia's for the British.

Welp can't find the site so it may not exist anymore.
So I'll just kind of describe the ranks which is really just a combination of epaulette locations and sashes.

Spoiler

Private: No Epaulette
Corporal: One epaulette on the right shoulders (The color would be White for infantry or Yellow for Artillery)
Sergeant: Two epaulettes, one on each shoulder and a red sash and sword. This is the same rank for First Sergeants, Color Sergeants and Sergeant Majors.
Lieutenant: Silver or Gold Epaulette (Depending on Branch) on the Left Shoulder and officers sword (Goes with all Officer Ranks)
Captain: Silver or Gold Epaulette on the Righ Shoulder
Major, Lieutenant Colonel and Colonel: Silver or Gold epaulettes on both shoulders.
General: Gold Epaulettes with a single Star for Brigadier, two stars for Major and three stars for Lieutenant.
