If it isn't broke, don't fix it I say :p.
Same haha, I am coding the natives as non customizable by Blitz's request as historically natives couldn't grow facial hair. As an example it is first desired to make it divorced from face customization but that may change as time goes on. But I do not think it will as we do not want monocle wearing and especially bearded natives.

"Mah Immerzion" is the only thing I can think of on why natives can't have beards. I personally love the idea of them having monocles and don't care one way or the other with beards.

I dislike having the option to fix/unfix bayonets if it means not having a bayonet fixed makes you more accurate. It creates an un-level playing field and adds unnecessary factors to consider in the match. No troop had to think to them self "Alright, does this guy have a bayonet fixed? If so I might be able to make him miss,  but if not I'm fucked to oblivion and back."

The regular musket with bayonet has accuracy of 75 in NW source code and in the mod.
For the fix/unfix test I only gave muskets without bayonet a small and not noticeable accuracy boost of +3 for 78 accuracy. You would hardly notice it on the reticule. Again we can change it in the near-future if undesired after all.

You could perhaps make add the iron sights?

I have yet to see any pictures of that actually working.

The ironsights are really hard to make enjoyable/function properly. So unless you have a way of making a bug free version it's not worth looking into :P

Why in gods name do you want irons sights (which have never existed for this era of muskets) for a smoothbore weapon that has a chance of the shot missing anyway?

Use that development time for new maps or something instead.

Or perhaps try and code a stamina system into the game? Because soldiers should not be able to run indefinitely like they do in NW.

Ironsights I don't see a picture, not priority to try my hand at. Stamina I honestly don't know how that would work well for NW type gameplay so other things like maps and the like is priority.

What about the feature to crouch walk?

Or maybe something like buffs that encourages people to stick together?

Crouch-walking would require some animation work. It's possible, I've seen it happen, but it ain't easy.

Not really. Look at the Deluge.
