It has Irish origins actually, so it was common in both armies.

I was think that as a small suggestion if you where to have iconic figures of the war of 1812 for the generals instead of just the default "General" it could be a lot cooler and spark some interest as to who the people were. I'd personally  would love to ride around as General Brock or William Henry Harrison and stab at people as I ride by, Also if it were possible, for the Voltiguers de Canadiens you could have Charles de Salaberry as a special person unique to that unit  and Tecumseh for the Native warriors. I think this would make everything a lot cooler and a bit more authentic rather than the whole "Each nation het 1 person with a name."

Also I'd like to say how fantastic the maps you have made are especially how they are all historically accurate.

Kinda what Conway said, like have General Jackson or many other big generals

Also, I am looking into finding a regiment for the US to add for US. Ill get back to you soon

Who is this General Jackson you speak of?

Too be honest in my mind, as peace was officially legally signed before the events at New Orleans I do not consider the Battle of New Orleans as a engagement of the War of 1812. Id say it's more of a random battle or a scrap . I wouldn't say anything is War of 1812 there. My Opinions.

The battle was fought by both sides with objectives that would further their position in the War (since word had not got to them yet). As far as the men and commanders were concerned, they were fighting to win the war. So how is it not a part of the war? Additionally, the British were all "we're in the process of making a peace with the United States, so get an invasion force South," so again, all the actions were fought for the war.

I typed My Opinions
Peace had legally been signed so I myself deny New Orleans as  battle legally of the 1812 war

In case you guys are still looking for Light Cavalry for the US, you could use the Boston Hussars. They've got pretty... unique uniforms, to say the least.

Also, the 6th Innskilling had a detachment in the War, so having them act as heavy cavalry for Britain would be a nice balance. You could also add the Quebec Light Dragoons, as I don't thing they were given muskets in the early stages of the war so they could probably be used as Britian's light horse. Either them or Dorchester.

But hey, y'all are almost done. This stuff could be saved for a second release.

We were not planning to have a lot of cavalry in the mod because it did not play a very large part in the War. Adding the Quebec light dragoons is a possibility since it would give the Brits a second cavalry unit and their uniform is a good representation the pre 1812 uniform regulations. The mod will have an extra infantry unit set for each side. The US will have the pike armed, melee specialist 15th infantry and the Brits will have their native allies as skirmishing specialists.

Well, you sure you only want one kind of melee cavalry for the US?

It sort of makes sense, the rough forests, great lakes area and highlands of the North America isn't a very cavalry friendly enviroment.
