Here's another... Some people in one of the constituent regs of the Reddit Brigade like to yell into their mics:

« on: November 30, 2012, 02:00:37 pm »MM all the way. NW has been one long bumpy ride of frustration, even though I have been quite successful in it and play at a high level now. MM felt so intuitive, a pleasure to learn and master, and moreover felt more immersive in the sense that the higher turning speed and better utilisation of chambering mechanics gave a lot more personal control to an individual in all areas of gameplay save arty (arty had a much higher skill ceiling however, which made it a lot more rewarding to succeed in). I'm not preaching for the return of MM, albeit it would be fun to have some nostalgia-driven events on it sometime, but rather acknowledging that it was a more enjoyable period for me in all my time in the community.
Hear hear! Gotta love that MMostalgia.

Name of the person causing trouble: SuckFace
Nature of their offense: Multiple teamwounds (possibly a TK, but I don't recall)
Time and date of their offense: Fri., Nov. 30 at 1:25 AM
If needed, what your relationship was to the offense in question: I noticed SuckFace teamwounding everyone in the images below, and that there had been a few complaints in the previous minutes with no admin around (as far as I know) to deal with him. I decided to go over and get some hard evidence. I believe he was shot by one of the teammates in the picture shortly thereafter and left the server.
Any proof if you have it, For instance screenshots. (use spoilers!):

Haha, I like it. Even better, since we were brand new, it was probably someone who had no idea of how to use formations (especially since we were more rabble-like then. By the way, G95 is the regiment this guy was in, the Grizzly 95th. I'm in the Hammerd 42nd. Yes, that kind of hammered, also spelled that way.

Shadebane, back when he wasn't busy IRL, was known for being a drunken loud mess. Just the way we like it in the Hammerd 42nd. In one LB (I think near the end of MM), he went into crazy commentating mode and followed one of our guys that was still alive. This is what he said when our guy finally was killed by someone.

(Perhaps) coincidentally, I have this problem a lot on US_1. Except that I always have a high ping (120 at least, when a month ago it was more like 80) with massive spikes now and then.
Though it might also be the wireless card on my craptop or the fact that my room is kinda far from the router. It might also be that my ISP hates me and is throttling or something. Gah.

I remember buying the game and trying to figure out how to melee. It was such a shock to go from MM to NW. Of course, then the Reddit Brigade had a big MM melee tourney the next day, so I had to reacquaint myself with the fighting in that game.
I also remember 5arge's first Friday LB in NW, and how for the fun round it was partizani vs. rockets. Oh god the server lag. I would go upwards of 5 seconds with nothing happening on the screen. Glory.

« on: November 26, 2012, 02:37:52 pm »You could play Headquarters. Simply put a map like Avignon, on teamdeathmatch, and both teams have limited time to hold the particular building or distinct area. So if its a 2 story house, the one team should be able to secure and hold that house for a specific amount of time before a new headquarter is chosen. Admins choose headquarters by going into the headquarter and toggling their beacon so both teams know where to fight over, and by saying it in admin chat.

Hi, I'm Savs. You may remember me from such instances as "spouting random stuff in Russian at 5arge's Friday LBs," "spouting random stuff in Finnish in Lance's Sunday EU LBs," and "playing NW drunkenly and not remembering friends that I make when they say hi to me at a later date." What is the nature of me? I'm a Drill Sgt. (in that I run some practices) with the Reddit Brigade and I like intense melee battles on the beach in the moonlight. I've been playing MM/NW for just over a year now. Like many people in this thread, I've not been incredibly active in the wider community on the forums and stuff, but I've met lotsa people from other regs, and I want to be more involved outside of Reddit.

One person (two if more than, say, 10 people) goes lancer, everyone else goes Hussar. The objective is to hold the lance as long as possible. Or when there're two or more on the field, acquire all the lances. Put the server on deathmatch, and sit back for a good time!

Oh god, I can't decide. I like them for separate reasons. Melee was more fun in MM, but NW has more variety and sounds nicer (though I find myself humming songs from MM a lot!). I say both.
