As far as I'm concerned it's mildly realistic; the French were at a massive disadvantage to the North German Confederation during the Franco-Prussian War, both technologically and strategically. I think, to an extent, it makes it more interesting. The French will have to rely move on tactics during events, whereas the Prussians can place more faith in their own firepower.

I'm assuming the stats for French and Prussian artillery are the same?

The French had the technological advantage with their rifle the Chassepot, which outclassed the Dreyse in every way, fortunately most of those ways can't be represented in M&B, such as the Dreyses tendancy to blow burning smoke and ash into the users face after a few shots.
The artillery units have the same stats yes.

Although it was nice of you to post the stats its really not a positive thing.

Now everybody will think more about the stats of their units instead of the history or looks  :(

And as Wilhelm said, now everyone is going to bicker about the stats  :(

It is fine. Smart people who know skill and team work, as well as using the provided tech will give them the equal advantage every time.

I posted these stats to help reg leaders in lbs. In the LB I set up, every one was confused and had no idea what unit does what.

Colonel Ageati, if you can read this, THIS is why we don't go Guarde Mobile! Plus their vests upset me...

So foot guards have every advantage over line infantry and no disadvantages? I thought foot guards had a lower shooting skill and less agility?

They are foot guards... Best of the best of each army -_-

Yes I know but a few people told me in NW they had lower crossbow skills to balance out their superior melee skills. Oh well.

This isn't Napoleonic wars though.

At first i tried to balance each unit, but it was impossible without making them all the same, so i just settled for not balancing the units but the factions instead. So a foot guard has all better stats than a militia for example, because they should. Although some units have unique stats, like the Franc tireurs and Zouaves being exceptionally fast.

How ever in shooting they are basically all the same except for Light infantry which is a little more accurate, and since shooting is the main form of combat the stat imbalance is less noticeable.

No there was a stat thing like this in NW too, it said that the only thing that differed Foot Guards from Line infantry was their Polearm skill of 145. They had all other stats the same with line infantry.

I did notice both of these mechanics in the game, and I have to say that you've implemented balance and the over-all game mechanics very well. It's a complete joy to play. It's not too balanced to make it a straight up stalemate, but the mobility of the battles makes them fast and a massive slugfest. Good show sir, good show.

In my opinion, these stats make more sense than NW's.
NW stats are bland.

Linemen:      14 (Str), 14 (Agi), 50 (1H), 5 (2H), 130 (Pl), 150 (CrsBw)
Guard:          14 (Str), 14 (Agi), 50 (1H), 5 (2H), 145 (Pl), 150 (CrsBw)
Light:            14 (Str), 14( Agi), 50 (1H), 5 (2H), 90 (Pl), 206 (CrsBw)
Rifle:             14 (Str), 14( Agi), 50 (1H), 5 (2H), 90 (Pl), 206 (CrsBw)

Stats have been updated by request of Sean Bean.
If you are NA and need a Blood and Iron event: https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=9947.0 (https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=9947.0)

It is not the best event, but it is fairly populated and not that bad.
