Native Americans - Then & Now
« on: July 04, 2014, 10:38:42 pm »
not sure if this is the right board, but anyway.

so. im on holidays at the moment in Vancouver (I am originally Canadian), and I have learnt some disturbing stuff about the Natives here..

So for those who don't know about what the claims are for the Native Americans, basically what happened is that Queen Victoria said just a few sentences that has come back to haunt the government of Canada.

Queen Victoria was a really generous person, and well, maybe too generous, she basically said to all Native Americans that she will protect them forever.

Now, of course the Natives aren't too happy about the white man coming and basically saying ''this is our land now, fuck off'' so in Canada, the fight between the Indian bands and the Government of Canada has lasted over 100 years. The Native Americans have special rights here, so basically they don't need a license to o whatever it takes to survive, and are exempted from jail for certain crimes.. eg killing endangered animals. the problem is, that they abuse that power, and use that power to net spawning trout and other fish in lakes, kill them, and feed them to their dogs. that's just one example.

the government has tried to help them, but they just wont listen, example is that the government built a recreation center in an Indian reservation, and soon after it was finished, the local Native kids burnt it down.

the Royal Canadian Mounted Police are literally afraid to confront them about their doings, fearing for their life, and the mounties are known for their braveness.

they also have the ability to claim lands in which are sacred to them, but the problem is that there is no-one who can verify that its actually a sacred piece of Native land, until a few years ago, which of course, they claimed more lands than they actually owned.

And all the while they still claim that they are pro the environment and don't want anything to happen to their sacred grounds.

this thread is to make people aware that the Natives aren't as they seem and can actually do terrible things. I myself thought they were pro the environment and I have no problem for them claiming lands for preservation, but when they destroy the supposed sacred lands, I draw the line.

discuss!

Talk about a one sided post.
Of course, I also think lines should be able to move in double rank without having emotional breakdowns.

+1

The native peoples have been so fucked over by the Canadian government, they are in no way the bad guys in this issue.
In theory we could do huge player numbers far over 500 players per server...  As such we will surely keep our promise to deliver you the 500 players per server.

We will probably go (far) over it, but that's for later.

Well... this is quite the one sided post.

May want to take a look at the quality of native reservations mate. If they're nearly as bad as they are in the US it's no wonder crime is rampant.

Find a pro-indian opinion and then we can discuss.  Did the Indians do something to you? You seem "angry."  If not then… GOOGLE

I'm pretty sure they don't have to pay taxes in America. Not to be funny but that's why they own a lot of casino's out west.

People are good at convincing others of a problem if they only know one side of the story. Look into both sides, m8 - it's not as black and white as it seems.
