The Mount & Blade Modding Contest - Q3 2019

Theme: Singleplayer Castle Siege Scenes

Greetings everyone!

We've had some amazing submissions made to the Mount & Blade Modding Contest in all areas: Scening, 3D Art, Scripting and 2D art. All submissions have been afterwards released as OSP for our community members to use within their own projects. You can find all the previous contests in our Hall of Fame.

This time around we're going for something different! With a longer submission period and some very appealing rewards, we're hoping we'll appeal to all the sceners within our community to participate! In addition to all the generous sponsors and our veteran judging committee, we are also hosting Gökçen Karaağaç "Cuce" (Level Designer at TW) as a 4th judge. Let's show him what we can come up with!

The theme of the contest is: Singleplayer Castle Siege Scenes. We're searching for the most creative, bad-ass, believable, fun and beautiful castle siege scenes you guys can come up with! Feel free to let your imagination run wild! Keep in mind that your scenes don't have to be "Visitation" compatible, we will leave that task up to the modders (converting the "Siege" scene to "Visitation"). We understand that this might have a lower OSP value but are very much looking forward to what you guys can create free of chains! The scene should still feature the whole castle, so not just a small section of the walls.

Good luck to all participants and make sure to ask below if there are any uncertainties!

Contest Information

Theme: Singleplayer Castle Siege Scenes
Module: Native
Submission Start Date: June 15th 2019 00:00
Submission End Date: September 30th 2019 23:59
Sponsored By: TaleWorlds Entertainment, Khamukkamu, NPC99

MBMC Rules:
  • You may only submit your work during the submission time period specified above.
  • Submit only your original work, no derivatives of another asset or asset theft is allowed.
  • By submitting your work to the contest, you agree that it will be shared as open source with all the submissions at the end of the contest, according to the open source license provided here.
  • In case there's a monetary reward, it's given out only if there are 3 or more submissions.
  • Contest rewards will be distributed to the first three winning participants and not the three highest rated submissions.

Scening Contest Rules:
  • Submissions must include the AI mesh.
  • Submissions must include suitable entry points - Tutorial.
  • Submissions must include entry points 0 and 32 for the purpose of MP testing.
  • You may submit up to three works to the contest.
  • You may submit previously made scenes if they haven't been released as OSP/LSP yet.
  • You are allowed to post screenshots of your work using client-side mods for Native or visual enhancements, but keep in mind that the scenes will be reviewed on a clean copy of Native, and some of your props and settings may not work as intended if you use third-party add-ons during creation.

You are encouraged to post screenshots of your submission as you work on it within this topic!

Evaluation System

The submissions will be rated on a points system, based on their performance in the following categories: Visuals, Gameplay, Innovativeness. Once the submission end date is reached and the submissions are closed, the judges will review the scenes.

Explanation of the categories:

Visuals (40 points)- How well the different scene features fit into each other, the composition of scene props, quality of ground texture and painting work, terrain realism, details and touches.
Gameplay (40 points)- How well the scene plays out in a singleplayer siege scenario with 150 bots (includes evaluation of the AI mesh, entry points, walking distances,...).
Innovativeness (40 points)- The use of new and fresh concepts while designing the look, gameplay, and setting of the scene.

Total points: 40 (Visuals) + 40 (Gameplay) + 40 (Innovativeness) = 120

Judging Committee

The judging committee consists of experienced sceners and veterans within their own field of expertise.

Events / Bear Force II Official Events
« on: December 07, 2016, 05:19:48 pm »
Day: Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Time: 8 GMT
Server: 501stCTL_Official
Factions: Republic, Separatists, Empire, Rebels

News:
Since the release of 0.5, we're changing up the rules once again to suit the new combat system and tactical demands of the events. From now on, you will be able to fully customize your clan and the squads in the events, since special classes like Jets, Snipers, Commandos etc. are no longer a privilege of certain clans only. It's up to every clan and squad leader to customize his squad loadout according to the following rules.

The standardized unit size for any clan is a squad. Aside from being the most effective unit proven by years of effectiveness, in order to use any specialists a squad must be a minimum of 6 men.

Rules:
1. The events will be based on completely modular squad loadouts, which means all the squads are going to have the same base(regular infantry) and completely custom specialist classes as they see fit.
2. A squad is considered at a minimum of 6 men.
3. Your squad has the unlimited use of:
  • Medic packs.
  • Shotguns
  • Shields
  • Any weapon that an infantry class wields(except light machine guns, that's considered a specialist)
E.g. if you have a squad of 6, let's assume you want to take the maximum of 3 specialist units. That means the other 3 standard infantrymen can be equipped with any infantry weapon they have available + medic packs, shotguns or shields.
4. You can combine a maximum of 3 specialist classes for your squad. How you combine them is completely up to you, whether you take 3 jets, 3 snipers or 1 sniper, 1 jet, 1 commando...it's up to you.
List of specialist roles:
  • Snipers - Clone Sharpshooter(Republic)/BX Commando Droid(CIS)/Stormtrooper Sharpshooter(Empire)/Rebel Sharpshooter(Rebels)
  • Jets - Clone Jet Trooper(Republic)/Bounty Hunter(CIS)/Stormtrooper Jet(Empire)/Rebel Jet Trooper(Rebels)
  • Heavy Troopers - Clone Heavy(Republic)/B2 Battle Droid(CIS)/Stormtrooper equipped with a DLT-19 LMG(Empire)/Rebel Infantryman equipped with an RT-97C LMG(Rebels)
  • Wookiee(Republic), Geonosian(CIS)
5. Every clan is entitled to one Jedi/Sith of their own choice, however if one team has less, but bigger clans(e.g. 2) and is facing 4 smaller clans then adjustments may or may not be made by the administrators.
5.a Jedi or Sith can take any combination of forces, lightsabers and outfits they wish.
6. Since the module has been balanced with counterpart stats, use of any weapon is allowed(as long as it's within your assigned class), except LMGs for Infantrymen on Empire and Rebels(as referenced in rule 3 and 4).
7. Ramboing is allowed, and you may use any formation you see fit. Your formation of choice may influence your round win or loss.
9. Event is played four rounds per map(with 2 or 3 maps, depending on time constrictions), with sides(factions) being swapped after every two rounds on a map. Resetting before going live will be done on a side swap, to ensure the teams have enough time to make a strategy.

Public/Lone players:
1. You can play any class you wish except the Jedi/Sith classes unless assigned so.
2. Same common sense rules, no teamkilling, teamhitting et cetera.

OUR GOAL

Star Wars: Bear Force II was originally a project first developed by Highlander, then by DanyEle for Mount&Blade: Warband.

Bear Force II currently offers you the only real shooter experience on Warband, combined with preserved melee combat and fantastic force powers for the melee users. In September 2017. the development was continued by Mark and goes on to date.

We hope you will enjoy the mod as much as we enjoyed making it. See you on the battlefield!

Regiments / 14th West Yorkshire Regiment of Foot
« on: July 30, 2014, 09:22:26 am »
Welcome to our thread where you will find information about our regiment, its history, information about us, who we are and why you should join.

The West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Own) (14th Foot) was an infantry regiment of the British Army. The regiment was raised by Sir Edward Hales in 1685 by order of King James II. One of the nine new regiments of foot, raised to meet the Monmouth rebellion it was termed Hales's Regiment. The regiment served in Flanders between 1693 and 1696 and gained its first battle honour at Namur in 1695. In 1694 the regiment took precedence as the 14th Regiment of Foot. 1715 saw the regiment moved to Scotland to fight the Jacobite Rebellion.

In 1727 the regiment played a major part in defending Gibraltar against the Spanish, where it remained garrisoned for the next 15 years. 1745 saw the regiment in Flanders fighting at Fontenoy before being recalled to Scotland to fight '45 Rebellion. Fighting at Falkirk and Culloden, becoming the 14th of Foot in 1751. The regiment returned to Gibraltar in 1751 for another 8 year stay. In 1759, when stationed at Windsor, it was granted royal permission to wear the White Horse of Hanover signifying the favour of the King. In 1768, the regiment under Lieutenant Colonel William Dalrymple, arrived in Boston via Halifax, during the crisis surrounding the Townshend Acts.

In 1782 the 14th was named The 14th (Bedfordshire) Regiment. With the arrival of the French Revolution and the subsequent French invasion of the Low Countries caused troops to be sent to protect trade interests. The 14th gained its second battle honour around Lille. In 1793 at the battle of Famars in Flanders the 14th became the only regiment ever to win its regimental march in battle. It is the French revolutionary song “Ça Ira”. They returned to England in 1795, then the Regiment was posted to the West Indies where it was on duty until 1803. In February 1797 the regiment participated in the bloodless invasion of Trinidad.

1803 saw the outbreak of the Napoleonic Wars, the British Army was expanded and the 14th formed a second battalion in Belfast in 1804. In 1808-9, the 2nd Battalion joined the Peninsular Army and gained the Battle Honour "Corunna" The 2/14th saw service in the Walcheren Campaign and was disbanded in 1817. The 1st Battalion spent much of the war on garrison duty in Bengal. In 1809 the Regiment was re-titled The 14th (Buckinghamshire) Regiment. The 1/14th served in India for 25 years until 1831. A third battalion was formed in 1813 and fought at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. The 3/14th was disbanded in 1816. Apart from taking part in campaigns against the French in Mauritius in 1810 and the Dutch in Java in 1811, the latter adding another Battle Honour.

The 14th is a newly founded NW regiment but not by people new to the community, rather by veterans of many regiments mainly the remnants of the 501st Legion which had over 115 members. After the 501st had been disbanded, we formed this regiment to continue with our regimental activities. We are a casual regiment, without too many expectations or ridiculous training amounts. We like to have fun and enjoy the experience. Casual but disciplined playstyle and experienced officers is our thing.

I apologise for the lack of pictures, I don't have the time to make this pretty even though it shouldn't matter in the first place.

Events / [Thursday][EU]Battle of Pharsalus
« on: September 23, 2013, 11:03:53 pm »

The Battle of Pharsalus
The Battle of Pharsalus was a decisive battle of Caesar's Civil War. On 9 August 48 BC at Pharsalus in central Greece, Gaius Julius Caesar and his allies formed up opposite the army of the republic under the command of Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus ("Pompey the Great"). Pompey had the backing of a majority of the senators, of whom many were optimates, and his army significantly outnumbered the veteran Caesarian legions.
The two armies confronted each other over several months of uncertainty, Caesar being in a much weaker position than Pompey. The former found himself isolated in a hostile country with only 22,000 men and short of provisions, while on the other side of the river he was faced by Pompey with an army at least three times as great in strength. Pompey wanted to delay, knowing the enemy would eventually surrender from hunger and exhaustion. Pressured by the Senators present and by his officers, he reluctantly engaged in battle and suffered an overwhelming defeat, ultimately fleeing the camp and his men disguised as an ordinary citizen.
