This field works. Did you guys put them up, or were they already there?
Actually those field are kept like that forever, well as long the owner keeps them. They just fix them if damaged or too low before the event.
http://www.resacabattlefield.org/FoRstart.html http://www.civilwar.org/ These two organzigation helped alot, they take donations to purchase land that took part of battle, demolish anything modern on it and then recreate it like it was back then either donate it to state park or national park. I think the reenactment part belonged to the State Park. Resaca State Park is actually brand new, havent been opened yet but was open last weekend for sneak preview.
Anyway, State Parks are the best. They largely encourage Civil War reenactment on original ground. Which is good for economy, the money we pay for, sutler[s regstriation, admission registration, and food sale all goes to the state park. Nice profit for them to keep up the work while NPS rarely allow event on original ground, when they do, its strictly non-battle event.
