I love how some Americans (the stupid ones) refuse to see that the Revolution was part of a bigger war against Britian. For France and Spain it was just an oppurtunity to weaken the British and force them to fight on two fronts. For the Republic of the United Provinces it was a chance to make some nice money  :P

As well as pissing off the British who were their sworn enemies.

The series even have a vampires versus zombies live episode -_-. That shows how historical correct and serious this show is.

Well the US Army Rangers lost to North Korea Special Forces if I remember correctly.

Also it's not fair to completely hash of the US by saying they did nothing, most of the war was the US on it's own (Not very successful but on it's own).

The fact that Spain, France and the Dutch hopped in defiantly helped out but the majority of the war was done by Americans. And the US did more than most other nations do when they have support in a war, going as far to send a fleet to England and actually win.

It was a series of unfortunate events for the British, that's how I see it. Oh and some bad politics.

By that logic the US didn't lose Vietnam  ;)

Yeah sure the majority was done by the Americans in the American revolution itself. That's a goddamn obvious fact, but only by numbers. The fact remains that without that help they'd been fucked, not in the last place because the global conflict forced the British to use troops elsewhere.

Indeed, Washington wouldn't even have survived in the early years of the war without the supplies from the French.

Well that's true. But I think all debts were repaid in the World Wars.

You can't win a war on your own, not anymore. That's what happened in the Revolutionary Wars and the same in the World Wars.

Britain lacked strong allies during the 1770's-1780's. The only thing they got were German mercenaries.

After waiting to be attacked after two full years, sure.

LOL, are you guys serious? Washington was obviousley the best general of the musket age, he beat the British on his own. Thats right, Washington single handedly beat a world power with a bunch of ex elite british soldiers. What did napoleon do? fucking nothing compared to our lord and saviour george washington. I guess because you guys arent american explains why you cant see the inspiration, honor, service, and tactical genious in Washington. If you want to pit a midget artillery man against a indian fighting tactical genious who fought for the best damned nation ever, be my guest. But then again, it already happened in a factual ams accurate TV show hosted by a navy SEAL. Napoleon got his little french tail whipped. I mean, when has a SEAL ever been wrong? Not to mention, a ex army special forces programmed the outcome. Again, when has an ex army special forces dood ever been wrong? You guys are all European trolls.
