Regiments / 97th Regiment of Foot (Inverness-shire Highlanders) [NA]
« on: August 25, 2013, 03:41:33 am »

History

The regiment has no Napoleonic wars history, but we as a regiment have some history. After the downfall of the VIe and the 2teLRK, a bunch of friends got together and using democracy, all voted to be British and wanted to be Scottish. So after some debating and some discussion we had decided on the 97th Regiment Of Foot name. We then, again using democracy elected a leader, an officer an NCO and the rest became privates. We are laid back and very casual. Really[due to school] only having events on Fridays and Saturdays. We are north American and are laid back and looking for some members to join.

History

Formed in 1806 in Kościanie in Poznan . At the end of 1809 the regiment consisted of 2,614 soldiers.

Our ancestors, the true soldiers of the 12th Regiment were called to serve, so accepted by Napoleon's General Dabrowski's project, in November 1806, in Greater Kościanie. Distinguished themselves fighting glorious trail. There were plenty of them in the Battle Tczewa, or in the siege of Danzig. Bravely stood at Friedland, Mount Calvary and Sandomierz. "On that year" in 1812 fought at Smolensk, Borodino, and the terrible Berezina. The end of the existence of the regiment took place in the fateful Battle of the Nations - in October 1813 in Leipzig, where the last companies of soldiers were following their leader, Fr. Poniatowski.

Regiments / VIe Corps de Grande Armée [NA]

Thank you muffin for the header.

Under the command of Marshal Michel Ney, the VI Corps crossed the Rhine River near Karlsruhe on the evening of 24–25 September, 1805 at the start of the War of the Third Coalition. On 2 October, Napoleon's advancing Grande Armée began to wheel to the right, aiming for the Danube River, with Ney's corps on the right as the pivot. The army reached the Danube near Donauwörth and the troops began to cross to the south bank on 7 October. However, the VI Corps remained on the north bank. On 9 October, Ney's 3rd Division under Jean-Pierre Firmin Malher defeated the Austrians at the Battle of Günzburg. Two days later, Pierre Dupont de l'Etang's 1st Division found itself facing 25,000 Austrians in the Battle of Haslach-Jungingen. Surprisingly, the badly outnumbered French fended off their enemies all day. Finally, the discouraged Austrians retreated. On 14 October Ney fought Johann Sigismund Riesch's small corps at the Battle of Elchingen. Using Louis Henri Loison's 2nd Division, supported by Malher, Ney crushed Riesch's command with heavy losses.

The VI Corps fought at the Battle of Jena on 14 October 1806 in the War of the Fourth Coalition. Ney's troops were engaged in the Siege of Magdeburg beginning on 22 October. Franz Kasimir von Kleist surrendered on 11 November with 22,000 Prussian soldiers, 800 officers, 20 generals, and 700 artillery pieces. On 25 December, Marchand with 6,000 men and 12 guns defeated 3,000 Prussians and eight guns at Soldau. The corps arrived at 7:15 PM on 8 February 1807 at the Battle of Eylau. Ney's 17,000 men held off 63,000 Russians in a brilliant rear guard action in the Battle of Guttstadt-Deppen on 5 and 6 June. The corps led the successful counterattack at the Battle of Friedland on 14 June 1807.

                        4e Grenadiers

                   Introduction

Regiment history:
The 4e was formed on July 20th, 2013 with just a few members and are now looking to get some new members and grow to keep the prestigious old 4e name.
(Stuff will be added later)

About the 4e Grenadiers:
The 4e Grenadiers is a really active regiment, with around 10-15 people at events, and always 5+ people in teamspeak ready to game with their teammates! We've around 4 events a week, and often play together. The 4e Grenadiers is a regiment where you don't have to rank up before being knowed, we welcome everyone, and recruits will be accepted in the group from the very beginining. We also have a complex administration, and ranks play a big part in the 4e Grenadiers, however you don't get rank-spammed, you'll need to earn it during the time you spent in our regiment, which is quite much in the current system. The 4e Grenadiers is mainly based on melee, we'll often stand at the frontline delevering the enemy a devastating volley, and then go into a glorious-charge!

                          History

At september 1806, a new regiment has been created and called ''Fusilliers de la Garde Impériale ''. In the structure of the Imperial Garde, this regiment would come just after the ''Old-Guard'' and it has been called the ''Middle-Guard'' and becomes a part of the Imperial Garde. In 1806, the French empire was 2 years old. And its master ( Napoleon Bonaparte ) wants to reform his precious Imperial Garde. Through a lot of new rules, Napoleon decided to create a new - regiment of infantry. His idea is to have another Garde regiment, younger then the old guard, so he could deploy them more often on the battlefield, but with the same mind of sacrifice and pugnacity. Napoleon decided to open the Imperial Garde to conscription, like normal line infantry. Those new recruits would be under command & training of the best officers of the Great Army. This new system would give him one of the best regiments of the Great Army for the next 10 years.
The 4e Grenadiers has been created in 1815, with the same system. This regiment included Veteran's from the French Campaign of 1814, conscripts and volunteers who want to help their emperor in the war against Monarchy's who declared war against France in 1815. The whole Imperial Garde fought at Waterloo, including the 4e Grenadiers. And under the eyes of the Emperor they charged Wellington's Centre in the last chance to beat the Coalition's Army in Belgium.
At 7:00 PM, June the 18th. Napoleon ordered the Imperial Garde to charge up to Wellington's Centre. If this charge would succeed, Wellington would command the retreat of his own army. At 7:30 PM, the Imperial Garde got engaged by British Lines for a final fight! 9 Battallions of the Imperial Garde are charging Wellington's Lines, including the 4e Grenadiers. 5 battallions were in front, and 4 battallions 500 meter behind, the Brave 4e Grenadiers were in the 1st line, on the right flank. Wellington's Artillery shot them during the charge, and the British infantry ambushed them. But they kept on charging and fought against the enemy which was outnumbering them by 10 times. The Charge of the first line had failed, and the morale broke, and the French army retreated. The whole army was falling back, Waterloo was lost! The 2nd line of the Garde, composed by survivers of the 1st Line ( Including 4e ) formed squares and defended the French troops while falling back.

About Us
Hello, First of all I (Thomas) would like to thank you for viewing my amazing(just kidding) and professional(also, just kidding.)forum thread.
Hello comrade! the 14y Saint Petersburg fights for the Czar and our main goal is to get the tyrant Napoleon off the face of Europe!.
But in all seriousness, the 14y is a line and occasional skirmising and cavalry regiment. We were formed off the remnants of the 2e Régiment d'Infanterie de Ligne after there was a big dispute between the officers, leading to our Colonel being banned. Leaving us to our own devices we decided, and I quote " Fuck it, FOR RUSSIA!!!" This regiment, was not historical in any way I just LOVE the 'Saint Petersburg Guard' tag. In-game we will try to always play as foot guards and train melee over anything else!.
