In 2.5 hours, a video will go live in this post. That video details the 44th's voyage at sea on Thursday, July 25th, 2013.

The 44th Regiment of Foot (East Essex) is blooded in its first taste of naval warfare. Captain Menelaos gallantly leads the soldiers of the Fighting Fours to their death as ships collide and the bodies of men are broken.

The rank of Fusilier is being reinstated, merits are worth double this weekend to Monday for recruiting. I'll see you all at the siege.

A good artilleryman should know that he always has a officer by his side spotting enemies and telling where his shots go plus Amit do you know how to make your shots bounce? BTW you seem serious about trying out for arty I wonder if we can go pub on a siege sometime (:

Well, Mathias, I'm a firm believer in using combined arms to combat the enemy which is why I am such a fan of the true Battlefield games. Infantry, Armour, Air, and the Commander all working together to accomplish a goal and becoming experienced with playing each role. In NW the artillery is the literally the big guns so I want to learn how to play it if for no other reason than that I'm rubbish at it and need to improve (same as melee ). And no, I don't believe I know how to bounce the canon balls. Would you aim the canon so that the ball hits the ground at an angle, bounces up, hits the ground, and continues to roll? I'm only going on what I've seen an an infantryman being fired at.

There was one week before I joined the 60th where I played just arty alone and I could aim well enough for medium distances. Where I had the most trouble was trying to hit those really long range targets where you can hardly see it or where your shells are landing.

I guess I'll have to run with some good artillerymen for a few sessions to get the hang of it more.

Is there anything I should read before beginning arty training? I've read some guides on the community hub page, but they don't seem to be very thorough.

I've tried to play arty before, but I'm not that great. I'd love to play it, but I'd need some serious training for it before going into another event as an artilleryman.

Considering that I haven't uploaded an actual gameplay video to Youtube in months, I just couldn't help myself when I reviewed the footage and saw how funny the situations were. Peter's remarks were definitely what moved me to make this piece.
