Would just to apologize in advance for lack of details or confirmed truth behind this story,

My Grandfather's Uncle Sam (Yeah I know right but thats confirmed lol) fought in WW2 for America. Any units, divisions, or ranks are still unknown. So he was in a foxhole returning fire at the Germans during a firefight when only a few meters to his right a German rocket, do not remember the nickname my Grandfather had for it, hit a friend he had directly. After the firefight was over the only thing in that foxhole was his boot. There was also another story in which the Americans surrounded the Germans in a church and the Germans claimed they could not be shot due to the fact that they were in there. Don't know if this is true but if you guys could find some info on it that'd be great.

I also have a story for my grandmother's father who fought in WW1 and her Uncle who fought at Normandy.
