Well if you wish to ignore the slightly sarcastic first one; How many people are already signed-up? Do you know?

They could have at least made it 6000 and had roughly 2000 Anglo-Dutch, 2000 French and 2000 Prussians. Give or take a lot to get the ratios right.

I spoke to one of the organizers and he said he doubted there were 8000 militiary re-enactors.

I'm still not sure how that's a reason for a maximum.

Yeh great. And I thought I could miss Gettysburg this year, cause Waterloo is much closer and is going to be awesome aswell. Wat is that nonsense?

Well, on a more bright side, it will still be one of the largest re-enactments of the Napoleonic era - if not the biggest. Well worth a visit.

And if you cheat a little (like going with a group thats in), they can't really stop you. You have to bring your own food and powder, though...

Well we had a meeting on the weekend, the Aussie units are probally going to Gettysburg instead as the Blue&Grey offered them gear etc, so unless they change it many units wont go at all, a couple are going to Leipzig instead, spend their saved up money etc.

disappointing yes but it seems i wont be going too, unless i hear overwise ill go on with my plans of heading over to the UK in 2014 and just have a holiday.

some might go to see it as members of the public but not many

Why are they going to Leipzig instead of Waterloo, as Leipzig actually has 5.100 re-enactors, while W'loo 2015 is estimated to have 7000 (in total).

So, just out of curiousity, why dd they decide to not-go en masse?

To much politics, if 4000 is da limit well......no point, its till 2 years off, i dont really understand why Leipzig but that seems to be what their talking about, and Gettysburg just sounds better

I hope they do understand it's 4000 military and not 4000 in total.

Going to Leipzig because Waterloo has a limit is rather silly - Though I can understand they are going to Gettysburg. If I had the money, so would I.

Of course, I also think lines should be able to move in double rank without having emotional breakdowns.
