History The King's Own Royal Atheist Rifles, were first raised in 1789 as an experimental new type of soldier. The absence of God, in these young men's lives would prove to come in handy when raising deep and philosophical questions about the nature of War. Where the normal God-fearing line infantry would consolidate in their false god, the KORAR would simply sit down over a cup of tea and have a nice and healthy discussion and seek deeper into themselves. Armed with the latest technology in terms of arms and equipment, they would distinguish themselves on the battlefield as expert marksmen, master tacticians and euphoric enlightened men. In 1803, the KORAR moved to Shorncliffe Army Camp, Kent, where it underwent special guerilla training, , under the tutelage of Professor Richard Dawkins and Sir Aalewis; the latter, like the KORAR, would gain fame during the Peninsular War. In 1805, a 2nd Battalion was raised at Canterbury, Kent, and later in the year the 1st/KORAR deployed to Germany as part of a British expedition, under the command of Lord Cathcart, designed to liberate Hanover from occupation by France. The KORAR subsequently formed the advance guard on the way to Bremen. In February 1806, the KORAR formed the rearguard for the withdrawal to Cuxhaven and subsequently returned home to the UK. WIP
