History

At the time Napoleon reigned over France and amongst his legions were the 19e Infantrie Regiment was one of the oldest regiments of the French army, the regiment of Flanders regiment then Saulx whom it was said "Beware of fire, water and Saulx regiment." He became "invincible 19th demi-brigade" and "19th Infantry Regiment of the line." Indeed, the regiment has not always had the same name, it's more than a dozen names he knew in less than 300 years.

Events: EU / [EU] 2v2 Melee Tournament

We are running this tournament for EU only. It will be held on Monday through till Friday; the quarter and semi finals shall be held on Saturday.

Have you ever felt as though your melee skills were not recognised throughout the community? Do you want a chance to prove that you are the best? Well lucky for you a 2v2 Melee Tournament is being held! If you think you can win, or purely wish to take part then come along!

The format of this tournament shall be groupfighting style. Only line infantry are allowed and there is to be no shooting. It is purely EU based. Further rules and details are to be given when you apply. The main rule is to make sure you have fun!

The tournament shall run from Monday 26th May to Friday 30th May, with the quarter and semi finals being on Saturday 31st May. The final shall precede these. Additional details including times and time zones shall be given after applying.

Regiments / 11th Light Infantry Regiment Of Foot

      The 11th Regiment spent the early years of the French Revolutionary Wars serving as detachments in the Mediterranean with the Royal Navy. It acted as marines in the naval Battle of Cape St Vincent in 1797 and was part of the force that besieged Malta in 1798 and captured the island in 1800. It also took part in an abortive raid on the port of Ostend in 1798. From 1800 to 1806, it was stationed in the West Indies, returning to Europe to fight in the Peninsular War and earning its nickname, The Bloody Eleventh, at the Battle of Salamanca.[3] A 2nd Battalion was formed in 1809 and took part in the disastrous Walcheren Campaign before being disbanded in 1816.







                        Our ranking strcture.
Recruit (Rec) Entry position given to those who have just enlisted into the regiment. These men have signed up for the regiment to be trained ready for battlefield duties.

Private (Pte) This rank symbolizes that you have passed the recruitment phase of training and now officially a ranker within the 11th Regiment of Foot.

Regular (Rgl) The rank regular is award to those who are the most active and participate in most of the events, this rank also shows that you are proficient with a musket in melee and at range.

Kingsmen (Kgm) These men are chosen not by the regimental leaders but by the King himself for their skills in combat. Men who are awarded this rank are recognized within the regiment for their loyalty and their skills for their are only a handful of them.

[Lance Corporal (LCpl) This is the first step into becoming an NCO, these men have been chosen for their potential skills in leading and skills on the battlefield.

Corporal (Cpl) The first steps of leading, these men are learning the ways of leadership and are given a handful of men to lead so they pass down their experience.

Sergeant (Sgt) Sergeants are the glue that holds their unit together. Their main focus is Line discipline and to set an example to all the ranks below them. They also might be asked to lead a class in training or command in a line battles should others die.

Colour Sergeant (CSjt) A Colour Sergeant has the honour of guarding the Regimental colours and Kings colours in battle, he must ensure that the colours do no fall into the enemies hands.

Sergeant Major (SgtMaj) Sergeant Majors are the toughest and most disciplined men within the regiment, this rank shows that they have risen through the ranks through experience. A Sergeant Major is training to become a Warrant Officer to one of the centre companies.

Regiment Sergeant Major (RSM) The RSM is assigned to the Battalion staff, he is the Majors right hand man when it comes to discipline. He like no other man within the regiment he is classed as an officer without having the rank.

Ensign (Ens) A Ensign is an Officer in training. He has the valiant job of carrying the colours into battle and when at the barracks drilling the menand gaining valuable leadership experience.

Lieutenant (Lt) The Lieutenant is a Company Commander and thus in battle leads his men to fight the forces of the French.

Captain (Cpt) This man is the Majors right hand man when it comes to the regiment, he is 2nd in command of the regiment when the Major is absence. Captains can also be a company commander.

Major (Maj) This man in is the Lieutenant Colonel's right hand man. He supports him in the field, and offers invaluable advice.

                                                           101stFK FREIKORP REGIMENT
                                                                               

The first Freikorps were recruited by Frederick II of Prussia in the 18th century during the Seven Years' War. On July 15, 1759, Frederick II ordered the creation of a squadron of volunteer hussars to be attached to the Hussar Regiment No. 1 von Kleist. He entrusted the creation and command of this new unit to Colonel Friedrich Wilhelm von Kleist. This first squadron (80 men) was raised in Dresden and consisted mainly of Hungarian deserters. This squadron was placed under the command of Lieutenant Johann Michael von Kovacs. At the end of 1759, the first 4 squadrons of dragoons (aka Horse-Grenadiers) of the Freikorps were organised. They initially consisted of Prussian volunteers from Berlin, Magdeburg, Mecklenburg and Leipzig but later recruited deserters. The Freikorps were regarded as unreliable by regular armies, so they were mainly used as sentries and for minor duties.
During the Napoleonic Wars, Freikorps were formed for the purpose of shaking off French rule in Germany. Those led by Ferdinand von Schill were decimated in the Battle of Stralsund (1809); many were killed in battle or executed at Napoleon's command in the aftermath. Later, Ludwig Adolf Wilhelm von Lützow, a survivor of Schill's Freikorps, formed the Lützow Free Corps, which took part in the German War of Liberation. The anti-Napoleonic Freikorps often operated behind French lines as a kind of commando or guerrilla force.
Throughout the 19th century, these anti-Napoleonic Freikorps were greatly praised and glorified by German nationalists, and a heroic myth built up around their exploits. This myth was invoked, in considerably different circumstances, in the aftermath of Germany's defeat in World War I.
