Edit: On a more serious note, yes, we are being put in a pretty bad situation. The fact that we actually have to talk about these kinds of things is depressing.

They didn't literally ban memes, but they will enforce nasty '""copyright"" laws and tax you for using links and shit because hey, let's have a supernational entity have control on the last thing were people have the most freedom.
Basically, they are using Article 13 as means of Information control and a way to make a quick buck, benefiting the big corporations with the money and getting us ripped off.
