Groups

The first EGS League 2 tournament has come to an end! It filled this tournament with some unpredictable twists and interesting events, now you will find out how the first five against five tournament in League 2 went. Here we go.

The tournament started in its usual format - the group stage. This season, we have 16 competitive teams who are capable of competing for the win. Unlike last season, the teams were divided into four groups, four teams in each group, with the method of selecting two teams from each group.

Let's start with the groups.
Group A had two competitively capable teams in Impact and 7-Sins along with a Turkish team from Regiment 31 and a group fighting team from Regiment 45 - Sherwood Foresters. During the group stage, the Turkish squad displayed erratic, erratic behaviour, entering the arena in other matches and playing six or more players, for which they were disqualified and left the tournament, so the other group members got an automatic 5 - 0 for beating them. Impact easily defeated SF with a score of 5-1, thereby already 100% securing a ticket to the final of the tournament, there remained an intense battle between SF and 7-Sins - who of them beats each other - will get to the next stage of the tournament. The Russian team from 7-Sins underestimated SF, and was very close to losing, but out of the last forces pulled out a victory with a score of 5 - 4. The final match was Impact v 7-Sins for first place in the group. Without a great fight 7-Sins lost 0 - 5 "without a fight" losing to one of the main teams, the favourites of the tournament. The stoppage of pro100pro in the middle of the tournament must have taken its toll and did not reflect well on the team.

Group B.
There were also some interesting contestants. For a place in the finals of the tournament competed cybersports teams such as: 115e , Nr.59 , SubV and a team representing the North American region - RSL.
Unexpectedly for all was the victory of French team, led by Tardet 5-4 in the group stage of his team 115e over the favourite of their group and a former veteran of EGS - SubV. The 115ers snatched victory from the favourite.
Also Nr.59 easily defeated almost all the members of the group, 5 - 1 SubV, 5 - 0 the team from the USA RSL. Only at the end of the group stage, we are left with two matches, which will show who will move on in the group stage, and who will leave our tournament. The 115ers beat the team Nr.59 by a narrow margin with a score 5 - 4, thus 100% securing first place in the group, what astonished quite strongly veterans of EGS such as kk.nr59, who previously won the silver and bronze places, and incredibly experienced SubV. In the end the 115ers left the group having beaten all their rivals, and Nr.59 having lost only one meeting - with 115. The SubV, as a very experienced team, lost all the meetings in the group, beating only the team from America - RSL.

Group C.
Group C proved to be incredibly interesting to watch . This group featured last season's winner Vegi - Jordans, EGS veterans Amigos and RoyalGuarde, and this season's newcomers 1tes[MB].
It was in this group that the real battle for making it to the final was on the line, where every team was on the verge of defeat. RG beat Amigos 5 - 4, Jordan also beat Amigos 5 - 4, but then unexpectedly for all the young team from 1tesMB, losing all games in the group, also defeated Amigos with a score of 5 - 4. The final meeting between Jordan and RG ends with Jordan winning 5 - 3.
So Jordan and RG made it to the final, beating everyone in their group, only the veterans from Amigos lost to all the teams and left the tournament in last place.

And finally - Group D.
In my opinion: this is the most interesting group in this tournament, perhaps even rivaling Group C in terms of interest, but let's take a closer look at what happened here.
In the last group was a team of tournament favorites - GoJp. With them, for the exit from the group will compete second Russian-speaking team in the tournament under the command of MrKnight - Lycoris, a newly formed group of "Children of Chaos" and the Czech-Finnish team - Svea.
Almost all matches were won by the two teams - Lycoris and GoJp - leaving no chance for the enemies to win. The two leading machines Lycoris and GoJp faced each other, and in a tense struggle GoJp won the victory by beating their opponents 5 - 4, thereby ensuring a one hundred percent exit to the final in first place. Svea lost all their matches in the group, giving their points to Children of Chaos Svea lost all their matches in the group, giving their points to Children of Chaos, who also finished in third place and left the tournament.

Knock out stage

The knockout stage was as interesting and competitive as the group stage. Upsets happend and two expected potentional league winning teams played out the first final. The first upset happend in the upper half of the bracket, where Nr59 defeated Jordan, which were one of the three teams to be expected to win the tournament. Nr59 though are no strangers and no big underdog in this matchup. The surprise team RG won their match against 115e and Impact and GoJP won their quarter matches without any big problems. Semis though were a little more tense for the bigger teams. Impact defeated the later bronze winning Nr59 in a nail baiter 7-6. GoJP won against RG comfortably. In the final match between Impact and GoJP both teams gave their all, but GoJP won despite a few people betting on Impact.

Thanks to both of you for taking the time to write that review!

@Bodya I don't know if by 'lead' you mean leading the 115e team score-wise or actually leading the team in-game but if that's the latter, Rhamerok & Foster are in charge of the EGS team. I am only a player of the team, nothing more!
Don't worry about what people think, they don't do it very often.

Nice review, just there is mistake in name in Group D we are not Svea, we are KSA (Kungliga Svenska Armen). Svea is just one of 2 regs in the brigade.
Edit: typo
