EGS | Hall Of Fame
« on: October 08, 2021, 10:15:12 pm »

This is the Hall Of Fame for every single season of EGS, with all its Team Of The Season's. The categories we use are: Ranging(RGE), this is knowing the length of your musket, opponent distance and needed timing to kill them. Defensive range includes when an opponent is moving towards you, whilst offensive range is when you move towards the enemy to get an aggressive pick. TeamPlaying(TMP), this is when you create opportunities for your teamates, using opportunities your teamates offer, and Up-downs. Chambering(CHB), this was describe as how well the player can chamber and how effectively he uses them, and success rate. Feinting(FNT), this includes baits, fakes (dolphins, tricks etc) and original 'feints' used by clicking the mouse buttons, all together they collectively form "Feints".  Blocking(BLO), this is how fast the player can quickblock, also how consistent this is and their reactive blocking (e.g blocking a very fast footlance). Lastly we have Impact(IMP), this is the overall influence the player has on the match, including pressuring, picks in even situations and intimidation through aggression.

Spoiler
Having recently disbanded 10C due to the French contigent leaving to form Grouped, Shadey approached Voluble to make ChimpZ and he instantly accepted. This team was molded around the players and styles of players it possessed, this style was annoying for aggressive players to play against and it caused them to make all sorts of mistakes and play directly into ChimpZ, and more specifically, Shadey's hands. Shadey was neither passive nor aggressive, neither teamplay oriented or solo focused, he was just everywhere making every pick, every tournament. He is the sole reason ChimpZ managed to make a miraculous comeback vs Litost which will surely go down in the history books as one of the best finals in recent years. His insane range and reading ability made him impossible to range kill and impossible to predict, his peak technical skill and synergy with players like Voluble, meant he had several options in every scenario and he always chose the right one to succeed. All these factors all season long for a good 6 months, led to ChimpZ winning Season One, mainly because of his indvidual brilliance. He is 100% deserving of the MVP for this season and I doubt many would disagree at all.

Spoiler
Zeyden started the season very well by carrying ChimpZ in the first EGS 5v5 tournament, but narrowly losing to MHO in the Semi-Finals. ChimpZ started to get its act together and performing to expectations, this directly benefitted Zeyden. He was coming into his prime with his electrifying performances in Tz0xPB and 10C made him a excellent player coming into EGS Season One. After the first tournament when ChimpZ got its act together, Zeyden was full of confidence and aggression which sometimes complimented the ChimpZ meta really well, this added a great dynamic to the tactics they possessed and it helped win several crucial rounds in several different tournaments, most noticeably the 6v6 EGS Tournament final vs MHO, Zeyden with Shadey, destroyed ExTaZz and Drake for most the rounds to end up winning 10-3. ChimpZ dipped in form but Zeyden alongside Shadey, Golden and Voluble, maintained the high level of performances to no avail. He ended the season on a high with the team by helping carry and demolish Virgins 10-4 in the final, to win the tournament, and EGS Season One overall.

Spoiler
When Voluble came back to the game and created EGS, he was very rusty for the first month, but then after forming ChimpZ and re-establishing himself amongst the games top 20 players, he very quickly picked up the meta and learnt players new tricks and styles of play. During many ChimpZ Tournaments Voluble was a solid figure trying to lead from the front and he made some very important picks and teamplay kills with Shadey, to help win several tournaments. Most notibly in the Semi-Finals fo a 6v6 EGS tournament vs Litost, Voluble and Shadey especially stepped up to first pick several Litost players to destroy them and end victorious. ChimpZ went through some rocky patches in attendance and performances, but in most tournament Voluble remainded consistent alongside Zeyden, Shadey and Golden, and helped ChimpZ to plenty of wins all whilst leading, to win EGS Season One. The Return of Voluble and his bait was very effective and it was a useful trick to use in certain rounds by surpise to try help create break throughs in intense rounds, which worked well.

Spoiler
During Season 1, Rikkert started off in Asatro for the first few tournaments, during this time Grouped and ChimpZ had won a few tournaments and Litost was slacking behind, then Rikkert joined Litost. He added that extra dimension in the middle of the team and his combined safe aggression and teamplay intertwined with elite targetswitches with Python and DOMI made him a force to be feared. He excels in such aggressive teams, especially against passive teams which was the main competition during this season. He was very solid all season long and deserves to be in the Team Of The Season. Rikkert joining Litost completely changed the landscape of the scene, making Litost the joint favourite alongside ChimpZ.

Spoiler
Python continued his claim to GOAT whilst leading Litost alongside DOMI, he and his duo unleashed deadly wraths on every single player in every single team. Litost was one of the most aggressive orientated teams in recent history and this style suited Pythons technical prowess and he thrived in it as I mentioned. Being a leader whilst making attacking plays is very hard and he mastered this art during Litost. Python was a key player in a huge comeback vs Grouped in the final of a EGS 7v7 Tournament by playing out of this world alongside lonedoge and Rikkert, really deserves to be mentioned as Team Of The Season for sure.

Spoiler
Golden was a vital cog for ChimpZ during the entire season, he most certainly was a factor as to why ChimpZ won Season 1. Golden's passive aggressive range bait/stun style was ideal for the slow situation generated by ChimpZ style of play, this lead to ideal situations for Golden to get kills he is very comfortable with and he excelled in most of the tournaments he was involved in, if not excelling, he was a stable memeber for most tournaments. His noticeable highlight would have to be during Litost vs ChimpZ, Litost was 7-3 up and ended up losing 7-10 with a 7 round comeback spearheaded by Shadey and Golden, Golden in a 3v2, killed someone, then did a insane chamber switch to make it a 1v2 to win the round, and the final. He is a obvious inclusion in this Season's Team Of The Season.

Spoiler
ExTaZz had a season full of different teams like a true journey man, he started the season in MHO trying to carry them in a sub-par team, having managed to get them to atleast one or two finals, he peaked with the team and unfortunately it disbanded. Then he joined Litost for a 8v8 tournament, in this tournament he performed very well making great picks and solo efforts and then after losing in the final after a huge comeback victory from ChimpZ, he left the team. After this the former team of MHO, reformed and renamed to "Patterns", this team was more of competitive tournament winning roster giving ExTaZz the best platform to showcase his skills, he took this oppurtunity and went on to carry and win the next 2 Tournaments alongside Elsse, therefore staking his claim in Team Of The Season.

Spoiler
Elsse during this season played for multiple teams 7even, Grouped and Patterns. During Grouped at the start of the season, he got off the instant success carrying the team with Higen and Troister etc and they claimed a few victories which was very impressive. Elsse showcased his indvidual brilliance on numerous occasions during the span of Grouped and it led to them defeating ChimpZ on several occasions who was a significantly stronger team on paper, but Elsse always showed up! Next stage was Elsse joining 7even for one tournament, he played decently well although they didn't manage to progress too far in the tournament with players like janne underperforming massively, but he did manage to 1v2 the dynamic duo of Python and DOMI, furthermore showcasing his skill in harsh situations. After leaving 7even, he joined Patterns which was formed out of the old MHO squad, this merged with the ex-Grouped players made it the joint favoruite to win the tournaments they was participating in due to absentees from other top teams at the time, and Elsse and ExTaZz turned them from joint favourites, to winners, they hard carried destroying the opposition and overwhelming those middle positions completely.
[close]

Spoiler
DOMI was part of the Litost trio which was destroying everything at one point in time in this particular season, his ability to range, teamplay and be super technical all combined super well in the teams aggressive stance and he took the fight to the opposition and 9 times out of 10, finished on top. If it wasn't for teammates letting the trio down at times, this team would of won alot more trophies. DOMI possesses great survivability and decision making also making him a all round great player who is able to play in any scenario put infront of him and finish on top.
[close]

Spoiler
DOMI achieved 3 Team MVPs and 1 Tournament MVP which was in the 3rd tournament in the 7v7 format. DOMI showed why he is regarded as a top 5 player, and arguably a top 3 all time english player. His insane teamplaying ability with anyone, mixed in with his ranging and overall technical ability mean the was always one step ahead and it showed in several situations. He was vital to Poosy's 7v7 tournament win and he was vital in making such close matches with Amaterasu all season long. He achieved joint Season MVP alongside Higen which is more than deserved and we should expect just as good of performances from him in 10C in Season 3.
[close]

Spoiler
Higen was the real surpise package this season, he managed to achieve 1 Tournament MVP in the 5th tournament, 6v6 format and 3 Team MVP nominations. His presence in middle is a surpise package in the sense he is unbelieveable hard to kill, but he still finds a way to teamplay and get kills and great first picks of his own. Maybe his reading of the game is very good as he stabs at the right times making him a efficent stabber meaning he takes no risks which makes him super reliable especially to be put in those middle positions. Great performance from him this season and he more that deserves his Season MVP reward alongside DOMI. Will be interesting to see if people figure out how to fight against him for Season 3!

Spoiler
During Season 3, Achilles achieved 1 Team MVP and 1 Tournament MVP in the first 5v5 tournament. Apart from this he excelled and was a top 3 player for Amaterasu all season long. More specifically, his teamplay with his partner Jakob and his improved first picking ability and target switches, meant he dominated players regarded as better than him and showed to players to be wary of the new generation coming through. He really improved from last season where he was a average player at best in 7even and 76ers.
[close]

Spoiler
In this Season Amaterasu has dominated, but players such as Chuckster and his teammates Zenon and TheDeaD, go under the radar. Chuckster this season has been a vital cog in the dominant Amaterasu machine with his stable performances with his survivability and teamplay. He is rarely killed first and always followed commands making sure he was alive in important situations and he made vital kills and interventions. Joining Amaterasu from Virgins was a calculated risk as he was ready for the next challenge which he has showed this season, expect a big Season 3 from him.
[close]

Spoiler
Elsse achieved 1 Team and 1 Tournament MVP in the 4th tournament in 5v5 format. Apart from this 5v5, he was vital as a emergency sub for Poosy in the 7v7 win and could of arguably got Team and Tournament MVP in that Tournament, had he been a member of Poosy and EGS, this would of made him the Season MVP for sure. Combining the fact he missed a few tournaments aswell makes that put into perspective how good he was when he played. He excelled in carrying Poosy with DOMI in the 7v7 win and also carrying Legends to a unlucky 7-6 loss to Amaterasu in the 5v5 tournament. Look to see him excel next season and try to carry Legends with ExTaZz
.

Spoiler
Arguably the GOAT alongside Python. What more can we say about him? He has shown consistent performances although he hasn't won any tournaments by managing to accumulate 3 Team MVPs for Virgins and Legends respectively. His presence is to be feared with dominating rage and technically ability combined with his new found aggression and teamplay mkaing him a real force to be reckoned with. Had he been in a so called "stack", he may very well of excelled even further and be in contention for Season MVP. We will always see this level from him so fear him in the Play-Offs and every season to come whilst he still plays. True Legend.

Spoiler
Jakob is very similar to Achilles, a new generation player who has finally had his break out year after ages of waiting. Both of them have swapped between alot of teams in the past year or so and when they finally settle in a good team, they perform well, coincidence? Jakob achieved Team MVP in both 7v7 Formats and also Tournament MVP in the latter 7v7 tournament, he really excells in his teamplay with everyone but most importantly, Achilles. They are the definition of a modern day dynamic duo, they practice alot together and it really shows in the performances as they have both improved ten fold. Jakob more specifically has refined his patience so he doesn't die stupidly like the previous season and he has become a very technical player with a good arsenal of feints and tricks to beat any opponent. He is a very good listener and plays well as part of a rotation or shift as a team meaning he is alive in vital situations and has more oppurtunities to make a difference, if he improved his first picking ability he can take himself to that next level in Season 3.

Spoiler
Python, the other undisputed GOAT. He managed to achieve 2 Team MVPs this season in the 5 tournaments he played, also nearly getting a Tournament MVP in the 2nd tournament, 6v6 Format. Everybody knows how he is a all round brilliant player who has no weaknesses on show other than his over aggression on occasion. This season he carried Poosy really hard with DOMI to try and beat Amaterasu and he was more than a match for them at times, completely destroying flanks with his unmatched impact and technical ability leading to devastation. Was definetly a vintage Python season with 100% more to show in Season 3 with 10C.

Spoiler
Zeyden was arguably the best player other than Higen in Amaterasu this season. He managed to achieve 1 Tournament MVP which was the 2nd tournament, 6v6 Format. Zeyden had been very consistent all season long in the 5 tournaments he has played by making some insane picks to put Amaterasu on the front foot whilst also leading to some big comebacks. His teamplaying has really improved this season from last season which has seen a sharp increase in the amount of time he survives in rounds and the types of kills he has been getting. Whilst becoming a more stable player, he has maintained the same impact and techincal presence which makes him a massive factor in Amaterasu's success. Look to see him continue where he left off for Season 3!

Hope everyone enjoys the cards, just remember, opinions are subjective and not definitive. Don't be too mad if your stats are not as accurate as you believe they should be. Huge thanks to Shadey for the thread layout and Elsse for doing the cards!

maybe I am wrong, but if I count all values together ... Domi got 562 and a 93-rating while extazz with 558 got a 94-rating, is that intentional? (not that it would matter but I was curious)

one would think if Domi and Elsse were the MVP's of the entire series their overall should be higher

With the end of Season 3 we updated the Hall of Fame with a new Team of the Season. Congratulations to everyone who is part of it. In addition to the TOTS we chose three honourable mentions.
