Good work! I like the fact you decided to go for tiers instead of adding an individual rating to every player which, let's be honest, wouldn't have meant much without proper stats to back it up.
One small suggestion though: In order to add disparity within the tiers, you could add a (+) or a (-) for certain people depending on whether they are closer to the tier below or above them.
Gonna take my example so nobody gets butthurt: You put me in Tier 4 with other players such as Swap, Grozni, Termito, Rastignac, Quinn, Wib, Bocom, Tengou, Husarion and probably many others who are all way better and more impactful than me in matches. Whether they are actually themselves closer to Tier3 is another discussion worth having but it's indisputable I am closer to Tier 5. And it's probably the cases for other players too so I think it would be nice to have it represented in the rankings.
I would make a case for Bocom and Quinn to be worthy of T3 for instance and I believe Erik has been finding a bit of his old level since the CL started. His impact (leading put aside) during the heavy matches was tremendous and he has generally been playing well in the other encounters we had. Obviously, it's easier to formulate an opinion on your own teammates.

I tried to remove a couple of people from an inf list a while back and got told that the FSE policy was to no longer remove people as per request nor force list owners to do so. I would prefer that Ciiges actually remove people if they asked it but there is nothing forcing him to do so.

There have been some slight changes due to 2 more players comming in to help with ratings. I have asked Stannis and Cage from the 8th for their opinion to even out the regimental imballance in the ratings. Very slight changes, nothing major.

There is no such thing as "almost tier 4" unless there's a - next to your name (which there isn't). Well from an objective perspective. I was at the top of the scoreboard against 4e and played decent vs 1er and 6e even carried one decisive round vs 6e. Still almost Tier 4 xD

To Octanidas, there were 3 active 4e members who rated, 3 active 8th members, 1 6e member, 1 Nr4 member and 1 1er member. The numbers may seem off of you take it out of context. The fact is that most of the players who gave their opinion are community-pillars. They are respected, knowledgable and skilled players.
I did already approach 1 member from the 2Lr for the next update, for balance sake. But that will be the last of it.
From that point on I will look at performances from players, and re-ask the 13 people every tournament wether or not their opinion has changed, the keep the list as close to factual and up2date.
I must stress one point a bit more: If you are unhappy with your rating, and think you deserve higher, SHOW US ;)

It is a list based on opinion of a non random sample of the Cavalry community. Duels, while making the list somewhat less subjective, would make it less generalizable (as duel skill does not translate to team work) and maybe even less reliable, as duel win or loss count may fluctuate quite wildly from day to day (i.e. a higher variance).
I do not think such lists have to be reliable, it is just an interesting indication of where people think one stands.

I've been approached by quite a few sad men that feel the list was a tad biased!
In order to remove most bias claims I have decided to completely rewrite the list with only 2 people from the top 6 regiments giving their input. I will again take the average of these ratings, and provide the same list format.
I hope this sorts out the bias claims, and satisfies the young warriors eager to prove themselves.

Well yes, but having 5 players from the 4e, 3 from the 8th and way less from other regiments will surely result in some bias towards those regimental players. Now there might be biased towards own regiment, but it will be mostly cancelled out by the fact that there's an even amount of players rating from each regiment.UPDATE

I don't see a point in trying to "remove the bias", the list was surely biased but any other list that follows it will be biased as well, in a different way, but biased nevertheless. Which is simply natural and inevitable rather than bad or wrong, since no matter who you ask to vote, they will project their personal likes and dislikes onto their rating. If I were asked to vote, I would totally give excessively good ratings to my best friends in the game like Erik or Quack and maliciously underrate people I hate.

This is the only information that gives a description on how players are rated so it can be assumed that the list is based on players skill and nothing else such as teamwork or even their ability to fight heavy cav/lancers for instance. Things such as 15v15 hussar regiment fights all the way down to a single man on man 1v1 should count because of this. So me and Cage measured the ratings based on this while also looking back at lots of previous matches over the years up to today to make the best assumption we could. So I make a call out to fellow inputters what is your thought process behind this cause I'm seeing so many players that I know to be very skilled in both large matches down to 1 on 1's that don't make sense for the tier they are in. With so much match evidence on fse to look through and at the very least this 1v1 tourney from 2 years back: https://challonge.com/CavTourney i find it difficult to believe so many players aren't rated as accurately as they could be.
Another point that I think should be considered is having tier 2 not be so restricted. I know Ciiges only wanted a max numbers of players in tier 1 and 2 but personally I find there are a lot more players in tier 3 who deserve to be in tier 2 but just aren't as well as for tier 4 to 3 and tier 2 to 1. There might be some compromise here where instead of having 5 tiers, creating 6 tiers would help to more evenly spread players out so the differences can be seen without the vast majority of people being blobbed into 2 groups in the middle. For the next update (somewhere halfway throughout CNC probably) I will add certain criterium E.G. Mounted 1v1, Mounted groupfighting, Dismounted fighting vs Mounted, Dismounted fighting vs Dismounted, Survivability, Awareness, Consistency, Raw skill, Teamwork, Clutch situations, Raw killing ability, Positioning, Patience, etc. This is a list of huge factors, but I will tighten it down to 10 major factors (after discussing with the 12 of you) and rate each category out of 10, to create a better visual representation for each player.
Again, this will take a lot of work, and so will be done in quite a bit (CNC) so we've got some time to relax, and for players eager to "prove themselves" work on these certain factors.
Would this help in the more accurately rating of players?

On the contrary, it would prove something essential. We know that the ratings are not absolute, perfect, flawless and so on, but even if they are just vaguely right, in a "more or less" kind of way, there should still be a huge skill gap amassed between neighbouring tiers. So even if the ratings have just a general tendence to be right rather than flawless accuracy in being so, it should still be reflected clearly in score of such match by a decisive win of the upper tier. In short, it would prove whether the list has a solid substance to it or if it's pure BS.
Besides, it would be entertaining to see how some people would enter their ultimate try-hard modes in such an event to prove that they stand out from their tier.

It seems quite a few ratings are 'off' due to miscalculations. I will try and do a comprehensive check for every rating to make sure they accurately reflect the votes.
For instance based on the votes for Swap, is current rating should be 3,75, not 4,58. So please till everything is checked, hold on your comments cause it could literally change your tier.
Evidence for Swap: Tier 4 4 5 4 3 3 4 4 3 4 3 4 = 45 (Sum of all votes) divided by 12 (Number of voters) = 3,75.

I don't think you understand.. You have included the tier's number (4) as a rating. There are 11 per player.
In Hannes' case it's a bit weird, he is the only one in T1 who doesn't have 12 ratings (he got 11). It could be explained by Hannes not being willing to rate himself but that effectively means you should divide his overall rating sum (13) by 11 (number of voters) which gives an average of 1,18. So Hannes' rating should be correct.Probably them not rating themselves (Hannes already told me he didnt see a reason to do that unlike others).
Edit: Actually, Ciiges and Dokletian also have 11 votes but Remao and Bedoyere got 12. I'm a bit confused so I will probably wait for Ciiges to clarify whether or not it's normal; before delving further into the checking.

But I fear the biggest problem is that it would make in total 3 cav gf servers (4 if you consider Quinn's cav gf is still alive-I don't know). I bet most of the people did register the cav gfs in their favourite. So they would probably just not notice the new server, or they would prefer to stay on the cav gfs they played on for ages.
If we truly want the things to move, I believe the community should have ONE server, the quality being appropriate for all, well managed by active people.

You'd think, but I tried this some 2-3 months ago, got a new (german based) server with very good connection, invited many reliable players from different regiments to be admin, added old and new cav maps, but people just joined the same old servers still. At the end of the day people just joined whichever server happened to have people on, and 99% of the time that first person that populates a server populates one of the old ones for obvious reasons. As if to prove my point the server is literally still running, I don't have the time or motivation right now to go and promote it or such

The most obvious problem with this is that such a list is a mixture of different opinions on long-term performances, aka voters are supposed to rate players based on recent performances - but across several months of plays at the very least. On the other hand, the people who would perform very well in a one-night tournament per tiers / show match would expect to see their ratings improve, which although natural, wouldn't really make sense given the structure of the list (one-night performance < constant performance across several months).
A tournament per tiers across several weeks/months would eventually be the perfect way to observe the evolution of certain players but it would inevitably be hard to make players commit to it. In that regards, the Fantasy League some people are planning to host next year would be the perfect environment to see players evolve in a competitive environment but without their usual regimental / national teammates. Until then, better be patient.

Due to this list being solely a summa of different opinions, it is only natural that - once these kind of players get their chance to stand out - they will be rated higher.

As a mostly casual Cavalry player and leader, I would like to say without being familiar a lot with the competitive scene of Cavalry in NW, that it is nice seeing a list of Cavalry players being formed. Even if based on personal opinion and acknowledging the fact that some people are mad over their ratings (Reminder I am not familiar with the Competitive Scene) I think that it is good seeing someone putting effort into the Cavalry community. Keep up the good work.Trust me, these kind of feedbacks actually matter a lot for Ciiges so cheers for him mate.

My second example would be Parigonicalus, who used to be in your regiment, a regiment that rarely played any 1v1's and did not paricipate in a league so far (which is totally fine of course), and really had a chance to shine in the BNL team and in addition to that more recently in the 1er and - as a result of this new acknowledgement - improved on the list as well.
My point is, if you like it or not, the recognition of individuals will always be connected to the framework they play in. Changes in personal opinions due to players changing their regiment is systemic in this list and not necessarily bad; especially nothing as mysterious and manipulative as you potrayed it. Don't lose yourself in wild conspiracies, Grozni.

Ah, the "framework". I just know I am being bullshitted when someone uses such a word in a situation like this, it is a nice way to say "you will play by our rules".
Well thank you for confirming everything I said, and then calling it a wild conspiracy right after. So unless you are within a "framework" of being a member of one of about four big competitive regiments, your ranking will be kept low. Since not only are all the rating givers loyal members or captains of these regiments, but also they happen to only care about your performance in these big 1v1s.
The list is a recruitment scam, for this simple reason: it started by adding *all* the half-decent players they could think of, even members of non-competitive regiments. As if it is going to justly rate *all* the active hussar players in the game. Your appetites for recognition are weated.
But then, you feel like your ranking is too low? "Well", they say, "you have to shooow us". And then it turns out, you can't possibly show them, unless you are a member of one of four big competitive regiments. Not only are they exclusively interested in your performance in big 1v1s, but accidently all the other regiments are just not good enough for your performance to really shine. There is no epic feat that you can pull out against all odds that will go noticed. But hey no worries, as soon as you join one of these regiments, who's members and leaders also happen to be the ones who give out ratings, you can start hoping that your rank will go up and closer to, or at least what you imagine is closer to your true deserved rank.
There may be a tiny amount of deviation from this rule sprinkled here and there, which is only suitable as a mask to hide the true intentions of this list.
My point is, at least stop lying, rename this list into some sort of big league individual player rating table and make it clear which regiments are supposed to be in it. It will still have a toxic effect on the community in my opinion, but at least you won't be those black ops bastards who have to hide their deeds and panickingly insult people who ask to be removed from it. Ciiges is clever to pull this out, but is not smart enough to hide his bad personality completely. In the past pages of this thread there are plenty of examples of him being a raging kid whenever someone questioned his skill or asked to be removed from the list. For example he refuses to remove some players from the list for a few days "just to teach them a lesson", as if he has some divine right of authority to teach anyone a lesson.
Though some of these removal requests were not very much polite (not as if you have to be polite to someone who has put you on a corrupt list without your approval), what about the last example? St0m asked to be removed in a pretty polite and straightforward way, and Ciiges immediately reacted by trying to publicly ridicule him. The "oh you don't want to be in my list, you must be butthurt over the drop in your rank" attitude.
And there is no mystery as to why Ciiges would be enraged by removal requests, each person less on the list makes the list less valid, therefore less power to him, making him less useful to the handful of others who benefit from it.
Any player of integrity should ask to be removed from the list. Even though you will be attacked and ridiculed for doing so, showing some spine will earn you self esteem which will be more useful to you than a number on a corrupt piece of paper.

Well thank you for confirming everything I said, and then calling it a wild conspiracy right after. So unless you are within a "framework" of being a member of one of about four big competitive regiments, your ranking will be kept low. Since not only are all the rating givers loyal members or captains of these regiments, but also they happen to only care about your performance in these big 1v1s.
The list is a recruitment scam, for this simple reason: it started by adding *all* the half-decent players they could think of, even members of non-competitive regiments. As if it is going to justly rate *all* the active hussar players in the game. Your appetites for recognition are weated.
But then, you feel like your ranking is too low? "Well", they say, "you have to shooow us". And then it turns out, you can't possibly show them, unless you are a member of one of four big competitive regiments. Not only are they exclusively interested in your performance in big 1v1s, but accidently all the other regiments are just not good enough for your performance to really shine. There is no epic feat that you can pull out against all odds that will go noticed. But hey no worries, as soon as you join one of these regiments, who's members and leaders also happen to be the ones who give out ratings, you can start hoping that your rank will go up and closer to, or at least what you imagine is closer to your true deserved rank.
There may be a tiny amount of deviation from this rule sprinkled here and there, which is only suitable as a mask to hide the true intentions of this list.
My point is, at least stop lying, rename this list into some sort of big league individual player rating table and make it clear which regiments are supposed to be in it. It will still have a toxic effect on the community in my opinion, but at least you won't be those black ops bastards who have to hide their deeds and panickingly insult people who ask to be removed from it. Maybe.

We can't do anything about it that smaller/worse regiments only fight other regiments at their level so we don't get a proper look at their skill level.

If you think that the rules of a forum are an example of what is good, then you have no idea
well, since what you want is to be right: okay, putting on the list who does not want to be on it makes you a person with a big heart. You are objective, and you have not made the list to feel better at all.

You can subjectively argue that some of the players have been unfairly rated and are being discriminated against because of personal or regimental relations with those whose opinions have been used in making the list, but the inherent subjectivity of the list itself makes it almost impossible to highlight an example of discrimination. As you correctly point out, it is an arbitrary and insubstantial list based on the given opinions of several players, something which is made worse by the absence of classifications or requirements for each tier. All that means is that, with that knowledge, you should be less concerned with the conclusions of the list, because you know that it is solely based on opinion and subject to arbitration and, surely, to some personal discrimination by the contributors as relating to certain individuals, the latter being something which you could not prove without a stricter classification system or a direct admission.
The continued inclusion of people who request to be removed is not evidence that Ciiges considers himself superior or in a position to discriminate against anyone. That's a leap of logic which doesn't connect. You might say he should respect the wishes of that person and remove them, which is fair, but the fact he doesn't is not necessarily evidence of a belief of superiority as it could just as well be evidence of, and I believe this to be case, his continued commitment to maintaining the list in its whole form. If too many players are purposefully removed then the list no longer displays a full picture and is at a loss for legitimacy. I think it's quite obvious that Ciiges wants to keep everyone on the list because he wants it to be considered a generally accurate picture of the scene relating to skill, not because he thinks he's superior and has the right to dictate everyone's skill level. Not that the last point even stands on its own either, since the ratings are the combined opinion of several players from different parts of the scene and do not represent Ciiges' personal view.
You should accept its subjectivity, which is unavoidable in quite literally any list that is not based on statistical data, and from that you can choose to take it as seriously as you like. I do agree that a more precise classification system would improve the list, especially if it was categorical, and having the opinions of many different people on a wide number of categories would surely improve the perceived accuracy of the list. That said, it's a lot of work for something which would only change players' ratings by a few decimal points.

On the other hand, visibility doesn't necessarily bring more points in the list, it just brings a more precise vision of what the players have of you, so also of those who rate you. So someone can be very good on "cav gf" but bad in 1v1 matches simply because they don't play this kind of matches. So his tier will probably be inaccurate, because other players will not know the he's bad in 1v1 matches, but they will know that he's good on the cav gf server.
I just don't really understand the drama, because let's imagine that this is real and that this list was designed to bring players into the top 4. It's not this list that is going to influence players who are greedy for skills or notoriety to switch to a "better" regiment. If they are already in this mentality they will do so whether this list exists or not.
This is a list that represents the opinion of some recognized players, but that's all. If you don't like it that is your right and you should not pay any more attention to it.

If something is unfair and wrong, updating it only serves to keep up the unfairness and wrongness of it.
But in your comment I see one clear example of an argument against statements such as "this is just a list", "you take it too seriously", etc... If it is so unimportant why do so many players want it to exist? Why do you so much like to see it updated even if it is unfair and wrong?
Clearly this list has two states of existence in our minds, it is both important and not important at the same time. And those who were fooled into validating it can switch between the two states as it suits them whenever they argue, to convince others or themselves into something.
Me, who argues that the list has a negative effect and is corruptly run, have no choice but to be locked into "the list is important" state. Therefore, anyone who opposes that view will easily jump to the "the list is not important" argument, without realizing that their words and actions on some other occasions will prove exactly the opposite. In occasions such as being thankful to the editor for running it, or just simply opening the page to look at the latest results. With this in mind, anyone who's argument is "the list is not important" is not providing anything meaningful to the discussion and can be ignored.

What would I do? Personally I would change the tag if the person asks me to, but that doesn't make Ciiges a bad person. This is his choice because this is his list and as long as he doesn't directly offend anyone it shouldn't be a problem. If it disturbs certain people of how they are represented on this list. They should simply not put a value on it. Anyone who disagrees with this list, or the names on this list, should simply not identify themselves with this list.
In conclusion it is impossible to control any representation of what people have of you. Even if this representation bothers you, you can't do much about it. The limit with this kind of thing is respect, and that is the case here, there is a possibility to communicate and under no circumstances is anyone insulted or denigrated here.
The best thing you can do Grozni, and all the other people disturbed by this list is not to feel concerned by this list and not to listen to what you are told about it. That's it, so I hope that everyone now can calm down a bit and enjoy the last moments of this game together! :)

It's easy to play in big teams, pick up the kills and then say "I'm good" when you then let your team down in matchs you think are too difficult or trying. It's also easy to betray your teammates and spit in their backs while in front of them you say the sweetest words. So as far as the lists are concerned, if I had to make a list of the biggest assholes in the community you would be very well ranked. When I think of all the shit you and Husarion did just to become Captain and Vice Captain of Poland and then in the final only play the matches you are interested in, I find it revolting.

As I said already, Polish team is our own business, not yours. And none of that poles blamed us for their defeat, nor was as toxic as u are here. You are literally the only only person making problems after that match, even poles don't give a shit (XD). You have no idea how does it look like from inside, few have. There are no problems with the Polish team and me. I know most of the players for a long time. Most of them are friends with whom I continue to play regularly on BannerLord and also with whom I build projects. Most of them are people with whom I share great memories
No in this case, I would advise you to read the posts again: no problems with the Poles for whom I have great respect. Frankly, they played a great match and a very nice tournament.
The people I blame have not played to the end with those proud Poles who fought valiantly against the Germans this evening and who prove once again that Polish courage is not a myth
I won't dwell on these two people who clearly disappointed me after all the promises made, but they are exceptions among Poles. In itself, I was simply pointing out to players that instead of creating absurd lists, they'd better go and help their companions who were fighting at 10 against 12 but, well, it would seem that the absence was justified...

Indeed, and all the great individual performances in the other Matches seem to have 0 impact on the updated ratings of the affected players.
