Diesel German cars are cool. Especially non traction ones. I can't wait for the Japanese to make vehicles to use alternative fuels. Mazda is really an underappreciated company. Americans don't seem to be willing to make cars with actual flavour and soul. Muscle cars are usually so vulgar and inefficient on anything that isn't an oval or a straight line. Sad really considering that they can make nice cars. Making cars like the GT even the fiero showed a sign of hope. Still they can make good trucks.

Yes, it's easy to appreciate a vehicle that drinks a lot of gas and goes fast but sometimes something a bit slower with different intents can also be entertaining drive. Such a pissing contest by people who don't even appreciate the artistic involvement behind making a car.

Muscle cars are a pretty dumb concept.

Ottawa vs Nashville would be cool. Hopefully Canada wins since Finland is out of the gold game.

The recommendations here are cancer...

If you are buying used with a budget of 2k$ or less you should always buy Lexus or Toyota they are the most reliable cars on the road.

My first car was a 93 Lexus LS 400. Electric everything with all luxury features and a monsterous 4.0 V8. For only 1800$ Granted it needed a new computer but everything elae was fine. And with 180k+ miles it was destroying pretty much everything else on the road and looked great. If I didnt get lazy and kept working on it, it could have been a dream car you see on YouTube... Rip.

I currently drive a 01 Acura CL 3.2 V6 Type-S  which is pretty fun to drive with VTEC. The Type-S gives me 260hp which is actually more powerful than my V8 Lexus was. Has 90k miles. Although ide still take a Lexus for the reliability.

But overall I wish I stayed with Lexus/Toyota and my next car will for sure be another LS or maybe an SC Lexus.

I can't imagine not owning a Luxury brand car at this point. The quality of everything inside and out of the vehicles is just Outstanding. And you really don't have to spend a fortune to own one. You also nearly never need repairs outside of standard maintenance as the parts are higher quality in most luxury brand vehicles. My Lexus needed NO repairs for years after I fixed The internal computer. The acura has also yet to need any repairs. *Knock on wood* :)

I would get an LS400 if they made them in diesel. Probs going to go for the 300d instead.

Japanese Luxury brands are better than other brands when it comes to luxury. I wouldn't apply this to Mercedes for example.

Some top quality banter on this thread.

I approve.

Also currently I still don't drive a car because I can travel those 2000Km/month easily by train, saves me a couple hundred bucks a month.
Though, if I would, I'd probably buy myself an Opel Insignia... Got to like Opel the last years... they're great value for the price and handle very smoothly.
My father got one as a business wagon. Its shit. Dont buy it. Electronic breaks down ALL the time. VW, BMW or Mercedes is the way to go in terms of german car producers.

Mercedes is very over rated. They don't make them like they use to anymore. You mostly pay for a badge now a days. Especially the shitty C class. Disgusting. BMW, Audi and Mercedes are often cars for twats now a days.

Mazda Mx5

I didn't know you liked boys, sir :3

A frequent statement made by twats
Until you even understand why that car is great, move along.

you can always buy the first gen anyways.

I travel 500km a week by train. Can read and phone while driving and only costs me 200 bucks a month.

You guys should try it, saves you a LOT of money on a year.

You should try getting a job.

Civics as with all front wheel driven cars are pretty boring drives.
And aren't the most effective A to B cars either.

What would you guys recommend for a first car if you have around 10.000euros and you actually wanna feel it when you push the clutch, but still wanna have a reliable car that you can actually afford? You guys sound like you have knowledge about this shit

Do you want to do some work on it? (maintenance)
Do you want to look cool or do you want a car that's fun to drive?
Are you just going to push it on the highways or you plan on learning cornering techniques?
Do you mind buying used?

Mazda Mx5
Subaru WRX
Mitsubishi Lancer. just dont get a stupid front wheel drive model. (defeats the purpose)

I strongly recommend only going after cars which you can visit in person. Especially since I am against buying cars with rust. If you live in the rust belt try to buy outside of it or cars that have never seen winter.

You have to get under it, look inside the hood. Owner history, why he's selling it. Miles, Age and of course start it up. If you really have a good feeling about it. I recommend getting an expert to inspect it. Only then should you drop a bid.

It's easy to make cars look good based on images and you should ask a lot of questions before considering anything. Bring a flashlight, maybe even a battery to start it up if you cant and always visit during daylight.

To me, the cognac of car culture is an older diesel merc and anything comparable. Well designed slow spacious cars with awesome suspensions that come alive on highways, usually diesel (awesome mpg and range)

An icon of cultural success and distinctive taste.

As for track cars. I find anything with a front engine to be boring.

I have money saved up for a mid engine or a w123 300 Turbo Diesel or going to get a super sport bike.

Sports cars should have the engine behind the driver.

somewhat interested in the sport but i don't really like the whole jumps in races. But I really enjoy seeing the bikes in a Dakar type environment. More of a track guy myself. Cheers fellow petrolhead.
