History
The Confederate Partisan was an integral element in the Confederate war machine, fighting in almost every known battle in the Civil War. Coming from all walks of life, these men fought for freedom and their beliefs. The Partisan Rangers were a unit of fast moving cavalry and infantry; raiding Union trade and supply lines, disrupting Union communication, and mounting hit and run attacks on Union soldiers. In battle, these lightning fast attacks were supplemented by a hard hitting militia infantry that could stand toe to toe with Union troops.
After the Partisan Act was passed, most Partisan groups were disbanded, but there remained several Ranger units that acted as elite Commandos throughout the war. Rangers lead the way!
