Title: Starting a New Regiment on AZW?
Post by: FKP_Blucher on January 03, 2013, 03:44:46 pm
JOIN THE BAC

The BAC stands for the British Army Column. This is for British regiments that would be interested in being all under the same bannor. It is similar to the N&S Confederat and Federalist armies. We have a teamspeak for you that is free. Its up 24/7 has 512slots and you can use it. Also this is for organizing line battles and such things. This is for any British Empire Regiment you dont have to use the teamspeak either if so choose not to. We recomed joining it.

I personally don't like the idea of big regiments/ armies to claim the entire armies. That's like in NW, that there are the Union Army and the Dixieland Army.
The regiments should be free like in Napoleonic Wars and if they want, they can join Brigades or Divisions, but not armies...

NaS is ok because those armies are massive and can field more then 200 men, but people don't like these terms and I kinda agree as it makes it sound like those armies are incharge of all the regiments the encompass. Like zulu kingdom makes it sounds like Flash has power over all zulu regiments, which I don't think is the case.

Yes there can, the Zulus were very organised.

They were organised into regiments by age.
Each regiment had it's own name and stayed in it's own barracks. Unmarried men made up the main forces while married men were reserves.

After their 20th birthdays, young men would be sorted into formal ibutho (plural amabutho) or regiments. They would build their i=handa (often referred to as a 'homestead', as it was basically a stockaded group of huts surrounding a corral for cattle), their gathering place when summoned for active service. Active service continued until a man married, a privilege only the king bestowed. The amabutho were recruited on the basis of age rather than regional or tribal origin. The reason for this was to enhance the centralised power of the Zulu king at the expense of clan and tribal leaders. They swore loyalty to the king of the Zulu nation.
