There already is something like this.

It's called ArmA.
As an avid player and fan of both, this is nothing like Armed Assault.

I was talking about ArmA III anyway. Yes, ArmA II has some shit-ass peformance. ArmA III, however is bloody fucking awesome.
Probably one of the very few old-timers here who hasn't been a regimental leader.

I run an Arma 2 group with 50 people and we have never had a de-sync issue.

Do you play against AI or other players?

We do a mix of both, but mostly Coop vs AI.

De-sync usually happens whenever you're in a server made up of exclusively human players. The game can't handle more than 20 people properly.

I need to find a new ArmA team to play with. 63e doesn't do ACE missions anymore.

From my experience the game only experiences de-sync if you're in a persistent server, which would be DayZ, Wasteland, Takistan/Chernarus Life, etc. Non-persistent servers, even on high player counts do not de-sync. I've played on United Operations many times when they've run 100+ player only missions with no problems.

I had lag when I went onto the Detatchment 7 server. But it might've just been me.

No, that's the thing. No matter what, if I ever try to boot up the game whenever they're playing BF2 just goes "No fuck yo tan ass"

Had a great time throwing grappling hooks onto highway street lights as an insurgent, and wandering into hostile FOBs unnoticed. I think they see a guy walking towards them in an open field and think "Look at how much confidence he has walking into our lines, must be one of us".
