I am a Great War reenactor across three different organizations, the Midwest Great War Lining History Society, The Great War Association out East, and the Great War Historical Society in the West coast. I have a German impression for GWA and GWHS for MGWLHS I have a British Impression. I do re-enactments I do memorials at the World War One museum in Kansas City. Make the trip from Nebraska every November 11th and memorial day.

What unit for the GWA? I may see you in the trenches this coming April.
Humans are extremely complicated creatures. Death uncomplicates them to a frightening degree...

some clubs are farby, yes, but they are mostly the ones that only do combat and not the actual living history.

Such as Danelaw Medieval Society, they are only combat but their equipment is farby.

But people like me and Dave Sanders, dont like farby stuff one bit. We pretty much kick anyone out of the camp who has farby gear or they have to camp away from us, an exception was made to me because im injured.

And at Hastings in 2006, every single piece of gear that was brought onto the grounds by a reenactor had to be accurate to within a 15 year period, from 1050 to 1066. Whether it was chainmail whether it was a tooth pick, everything had to be historically accurate.

[France]
http://www.marchand-medieval.com/medieval/- Awesome, awesome guy. everything is hand made, done correctly for the period, really recommend him.

[AUS]
- http://www.medievalshoppe.com.au/- mid range stuff, never bought from them, seems like decent prices.

[AUS]- http://www.medieval-fightclub.com/- Try NOT to buy from these guys, their prices are low for a reason. Not very safe stuff.

I looked on their site, they look a bit more like they're meant to be a creative anachronism thing to me.

If not then the surcoats and maille hauberks combined with bracers and hourglass gauntlets are actually going to make me cringe.

Us Napoleonicers must stand firm against the ACW and medieval plebians!
