Mehh, it's only 2% difference really. I don't think it'll be noticed. And the monitor I use, I only use one atm and it is the ASUS ROG Swift PG279QM 240hz 1440p.

You need to get yourself a 4k one now, thing about the 4090 is that the CPU bottlenecks at 1440p, so the FPS gain from a 4080 to 4090 at 1440p is only about 5 - 10% (sometimes even) but upwards of 20% at 4k.

Yeah, I am honestly thinking of going 4K but I'm waiting for a good 4K monitor with 240hz or higher. Not sure about that yet. :P I also don't really know what the screensize sweetspot is for 4K as 27 inch is the sweetspot for 1440p.

No real point, you shouldn't really use 4K for competitive games because more fps > more pixels. I'd buy like a 144hz 4k monitor for casual gaming (OLED preferably over IPS), which is pretty much 95% of games anyways and keep the 1440p (even though there's a bottleneck) for competitive games. Though the difference between 144hz and 240hz is minimal and an obvious waste of money (unless you've got that to spend)

Yeah, I am more into open world RPG games really. I don't really play competitive haha. Just some GF's with the 33rd but never tournaments. (I suck at NW anyways lmao) Other than that I occasionally play FPS shooters like Battlefield and Modern Warfare 2. I never really touch CS:GO or APEX Legends or Valorant etc.

Here's an example of an obvious CPU bottleneck at 1440p, the 4080 and 4090 perform almost identical at 1440p because of the CPU, whilst at 4k (because there's fewer frames), there is no bottleneck and the GPU is fully utilised. Now you have a 4090 you're almost obliged to get a 4k monitor, otherwise it's a waste :P buy a 144hz 4k monitor then, don't need 240hz because A. you'll never reach 240fps and B. you're playing casual games. The i9 (even though it's extremely powerful) would still bottleneck the 4090 and sometimes 4080 at 1440p.

Yeah, I am definitely gonna get one in the future. Just saw there are already 4K monitors with 240hz. Gonna do some research which ones are worth it. And saving some money for it lmao.

144hz I'd suggest would be all you need - you'd be paying over the odds to have 240hz monitors I think - either way, how are you finding it!?
