Im from Poland , a land of lawlessness
Picking up my musket by the muzzle and swinging it overhead isn't exactly the first thing that comes to my mind when I need to melee without a bayonet, tbh.
Battle Cry of Freedom was an inside job

Like the rifles in NW. And it would be if you had nothing else and that gun butt was hefty

I've lost half my tooth last april when an Imperial grenadier hit me in the face when he tried to push me over with his musket. Sure, I can understand the 4 way system for gameplay reasons, but in reality there are a lot more practical ways than the overhead sling if you wanna melee someone with no bayo.
I mean why the hell does he almost crouch and protect his legs on the down block? Wouldn't the down attack go towards his chest?
All that being said, Melee will be very similar to what NW/Warband has + some added functionality. So no need to worry about that. It is already implemented, only thing it is lacking right now is some proper hit detection, but that is being worked on... It will be all ready and done for Alpha. About Rifles and Muskets, as I said, we will be posting a blog about that soon. And just for the fun, a few pictures of it. Spoiler[close]
Why would you remove the bayonet? Also can you lose the bayonet.Final question can you disarm enemies.
Well it would make sense that, just like MB:warband, you can drop your weapons.I'm not sure whether I'm gonna like the 3D voicechat. They're usually just another way to annoy players.
