90% of your events will be '44 - '45.

I've done some Mid-war events and going to do a proper early war one later next year around September.

Does anyone know where to get German Jackboots/Lowboots+gaiters?

2 pairs of Size 11

Tried Hessen, they are always out of stock.

Atthefront don't have my size for Jackboots, and their lowboots have had many reports of cracking, so i am a sceptic about getting them...

My price range is around 150 +50 in each direction.

Lederarsenal.com = Best reproductions on the market! Slightly expensive, but totally worth it, and will last you a VERY long time.

And both from Germany, God know how much the shipping to Australia would be.  :o

I've been told to wait until Underwood has some in stock. (Might be a better option for you since Zac told me Shipping from UK to Aus is bit lower than others)

Godson, what is your unit portraying? If you are doing SS, what unit then? I do believe some SS unit were dominately found wearing lowboot while others jackboot.

Portraying Late War Wehrmacht? Highly recommend low boot option seeing how jackboot went out of "action" i think '41 or '42

CHRIST they are expensive for my wallet, but as you say the more expensive, the better quility. Then there is the shipping....

$400 aud for a single pair of low boots.

Better start saving

Yes, I am portraying a 2nd SS Panzer-Grenadier division in 1942. Of course often the W-SS thought they were higher and more important than their WH counterparts, and tried to look better with the shoes (Jesus Christ, looking better with just shoes?)

And yes, Shipping is the biggest Basterd to Australia...   $800 shipping for all my other gear.

If I do end up doing a WWII German impression, it would definitely be Heer.

Originally, I didn't want to do SS. I wanted to Luftwaffe or Luftlande Pionieren. Couldn't find one, so I was looking for Heer Grenadiers or Pionieren, couldn't find any in my area that are active. So, I looked for an SS group as a last resort, and found this huge 100+ member SS-Pz.Grn.Reg.

I started off Heer because two reason. 1. My family would die if they see me wearing SS uniform 2. Landrik preached me how Heer is glorious and stronger also smarter than W-SS

Really i was lucky with this group tho, in middle of summer, thought about doing ww2 and i see this fb post on living history of a guy about my age "Starting a Progressive Heer unit in Chicagoland" i signed up and here I am, studying photos and journal entry of Hurtgenwald. We are preparing to sleep in foxholes and have prepared our hurtgenwald impression. Best part is, most guys in the group are my age. What a lucky hit.

Oh sure you did! It was that conversation we had after you told me you just successfully drank 50 bottle of beer. Remember that?
