They received Polish style uniform, which was actually a simply copy of the 1er lanciers, but in scarlet. The red Lancers consisted of Dutch troops when they were first organized (Ironically, the recruit were ex-Hussars and -Cuirassiers), but after Russia, they were replaced by Frenchmen, and by the 1815 there were almost no foreigners left in the Red Lancers.

Even the British started copying Polish uniforms (Except for the Czapka's) after the Napoleonics.

Because the rest of the world was so impressed with the Polish Lancers (Uhlans) that they adopted variations of their uniforms (especially the Czapka). Even Britain would get in on the Poland-copying later in the 1800s (For example: the lancers of the Light Brigade wore the Czapka during the Charge of the Light Brigade). Few major armies didn't use them, the Russians used them, the Austrians used them, some French units used them, and so on.

Basically because Waffle and I are huge fans of the Red Lancers (Them originally being Dutch). And this helmet is silly.

Besides, lancer uniforms were the same as Dragoons, and we want some more diversity. I know I want the bright scarlet.

Do you have any intent on going to Warhammer 40k Grim Future, and asking us to add the First Polish Guard regiment for the Imperial Guard?

I'm actually quite grateful to Baktech. We were having a hard time choosing between the Polish and Red lancers, and we were thinking about maybe adding both uniform.
But because the entire team is annoyed now(Including me, a great admirer of Polish militairy history) we hold no regrets. Vive les Lanciers Rouge!
