INTRODUCTION

The 84th was created and progressively maintained by a small number of ambitious people, who have tried to make a community
where everyone who joined felt welcome, made a lot of friends and had tons of fun at the same time. If you are interested in being
part of the next generation of 84th members and join us into the fray, message one of the CO's or NCO's and apply directly.

You are most welcome!

OUR HISTORY

The 84th community has existed, in one form or another, since April 2013. From the ashes of the 78th,
on November 8th 2015 the 84th emerged, with Colonel Smollett at the helm. It was a brigade with
many companies: Line, Cavalry, Artillery, Skirmisher and Training companies. Throughout the years
a core with competent and motivated people was created, who became friends in-game as well as in
real life.

In September 2018, our leader Smollett had to embark on a journey in life, saying his final farewells
to the 84th. However, the 84th continued to endure and joined the Suisse with a new goal: Providing
a gaming platform for veterans of Warband, adopting existing and new members alike. Nowadays the
84th and the 1stelvN have formed the 'Royal Guards' brigade but still very much in an 84th manner
and with Napoleonic Wars at the centre of our activities and hearts.

We currently offer positions in Line, Cavalry and Artillery companies!

YORK & LANCASTER - REGIMENTAL HISTORY

The 84th (York and Lancaster) Regiment of Foot was a regiment in the British Army, raised in 1793.
Under the Childers Reforms it amalgamated with the 65th (2nd Yorkshire, North Riding) Regiment of Foot
to form the York and Lancaster Regiment, with the 84th becoming the 2nd Battalion, in 1881.

The regiment was raised at York by Lieutenant Colonel George Bernard as the 84th Regiment of Foot, in
response to the threat posed by the French Revolution, on 2 November 1793. A short-lived 2nd Battalion
was raised in March 1794. The 1st Battalion was sent to join the Duke of York's army in the Netherlands
in September 1794 as part of the unsuccessful defence of that country against the Republican French
during the Flanders Campaign.

Returning to Britain in the spring of 1795, both battalions of the 84th were posted to the Cape of Good
Hope in 1795 where they were amalgamated. From South Africa, the regiment was sent to Madras in India
in 1798 and on to Bombay in February 1799.

NAPOLEONIC WARS
A second battalion was raised again in May 1808 and the regiment became the 84th (York and Lancaster)
Regiment of Foot (reflecting the fact that the 1st Battalion had been raised in Yorkshire and the 2nd
Battalion had been raised in Lancashire) in January 1809. The 1st Battalion was sent to the French
held island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean where they participated in the capture of the island in
1810.After this the battalion served in Bangalore for the next four years.

From there they were involved in the recapturing of Kurnool in 1815 and against the Mahratta
princes in the last stages of the Third Anglo-Maratha War.

The battalion returned to England in 1819 where it absorbed the 2nd Battalion.

Meanwhile, the 2nd Battalion took part in the disastrous Walcheren Campaign in autumn 1809. The
battalion embarked for Portugal for service in the Peninsular War in August 1813. Pursuing the French
Army into France, it saw action at the Battle of the Bidassoa on October 1813, the Battle of Nivelle in
November 1813 and the Battle of the Nive in December 1813.

The battalion returned to England, where it was absorbed by the 1st Battalion in 1819.

"The English historians often emphasize how much Wellington's battalions were understrength at
Waterloo. This is correct. But this is not the whole picture. Although understrength, the average British
battalion was stronger than the Prussian unit and much stronger (by 145 muskets on average) than
the French battalion." - Napolun archives

"Well posted, as Wellington knows how to post it, and attacked from the front, I consider the English
infantry to be impregnable ..." - French General Reille

THE VICTORIAN ERA
Detachments boarded HMS Dromedary and HMS Coromandel as escorts for convicts bound for Van Diemen's
Land and New South Wales in 1820. Both ships continued to New Zealand to harvest kauri trees for use as
spars for first rate (98 gun) Royal Navy warships. Two officers and a detachment of the regiment remained
on HMS Dromedary for the eleven month expedition to the Bay of Islands and Whangaroa.

The battalion was sent to Jamaica, where it helped quell the slave riots, in 1827. The regiment remained in
the West Indies until 1839 when it returned home.

The regiment was the only formation ever to receive a salute from the battery at Fort William, Calcutta and
received that acclaim when it left India in 1859. It was deployed to Malta in 1865 and to Jamaica in 1867
before going on to Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1870. It returned home in 1871.

As part of the Cardwell Reforms of the 1870s, where single-battalion regiments were linked together to share
a single depot and recruiting district in the United Kingdom, the 84th was linked with the 65th (2nd Yorkshire,
North Riding) Regiment of Foot, and assigned to district no. 7 at Pontefract Barracks in Yorkshire. On 1 July
1881 the Childers Reforms came into effect and the regiment amalgamated with the 65th (2nd Yorkshire,
North Riding) Regiment of Foot to form the York and Lancaster Regiment, with the 84th becoming the
2nd Battalion.

These two Regiments were amalgamated in 1881 to form The York and Lancaster Regiment as part of the
Childers Reforms which restructured the British army into a network of multi-battalion Regiments.  The newly
formed Regiment served in Egypt, Sudan and during the Second Boer War (1899-1902) took part in the Relief
of Ladysmith as well as two World Wars.  As part of army restructuring in 1968, The York and Lancaster was one
of two infantry Regiments chosen to be disbanded.  However the Regimental traditions were continued by the
companies of the Yorkshire Volunteers as the Hallamshire Battalion.

OUR COMPANIES

INFANTRY COMPANY

Equipped with muskets and bayonets, these fierce soldiers march into
battle without any fear. They are the main unit of the 84th commanded
by Razz and ThatRandomITGuy. The infantry is the go to company for
those who like to get in the middle of bayonet fights and fire volleys
at enemy troops whilst using the terrain in a smart way to gain
tactical advantages.

CAVALRY COMPANY

Cutting down soldiers from horseback while trembling them down
with strong horses of war. The cavalry company utilizes terrain with
speed and swift surprise attacks. The Cavalry company is commanded
by Locklear and Ansgarr. If you love slashing and stabbing people with
speed and advanced tactics, the cavalry company might be your best
choice. Mercy is not an option for these guys.

ARTILLERY COMPANY

If you love fireworks, explosions and shooting people's limbs off, well,
you are going to love the artillery company. Round shots, explosive
shells and canisters, there is nothing these guys won't use to terrorize
the enemy troops. This company is commanded by Ludde. Using hills
for tactical advantages and sapper works to defend the crew from
incoming attacks, this company is small but has deadly accuracy.

Gl again, pointless having two companies that are basically just two separate regiments so this makes sense. :)
I won lots of things, I came 2nd and 3rd in lots of things, I guess I did some other shit too........ I'm also an FSE legend, probably most commonly described as a cunt. If the shit I do doesn't make sense in your head, well fuck you because it makes sense in mine.

Which i did, against known and reputed player, some of them considered legend, such as, Mandarin, Ledger, Tiberias, Herishey, Hokej, Troister, Axiom, Evanovic, Stark, Eddie, Jammo, Bagins, Freddie, Python. I didn't had a good relationship with most of them, but i congratulate them for what they did, and i had pleasure facing them.
