Regiments / 37th (North Hampshire) Regiment of Foot [EU/Recruiting]
« on: July 23, 2019, 11:02:40 pm »

37th's Badge
Who are the 37th?
The 37th (North Hampshire) Regiment of Foot is a European based regiment  (We do accept some North-American recruits), We are a very disciplined regiment but of course fun is still to be had, and have the goal of becoming one of the best but also casual regiments around! We are a friendly regiment with a fair number of experienced officers who are always recruiting! Think this is the regiment for you?

One thing we do like to make clear here in the 37th, is we are not just a regiment, we are a community, and have people in our teamspeak at one time playing other games, such as CS:GO or EU4 which we play outside of event times.

The regiment was raised in Ireland by Lieutenant-General Thomas Meredyth as Meredyth's Regiment in February 1702. It embarked for the Netherlands in May 1703 and fought under the Duke of Marlborough at the Battle of Schellenberg in July 1704, the Battle of Blenheim in August 1704 and the Battle of Ramillies in May 1706 as well as the Battle of Oudenarde in July 1708 and the Battle of Malplaquet in September 1709 during the War of the Spanish Succession. The regiment embarked for Canada in 1711 as part of the Quebec Expedition but lost 8 officers and 253 men when the ships in which it was sailing foundered on the rocks on the Saint Lawrence River; the expedition returned home. It was also in action at the Capture of Vigo in October 1719.

The regiment next saw action at the Battle of Dettingen in June 1743 during the War of the Austrian Succession. It also fought at the Battle of Falkirk in January 1746 during the Jacobite rebellion when its colonel, Sir Robert Munro, 6th Baronet, was shot and then finished off with three sword blows to the head. It went on to fight under the command of Colonel Lewis Dejean at the Battle of Culloden in April 1746 and was ranked the 37th Foot in 1747. The regiment returned to the Netherlands and fought at the Battle of Lauffeld in July 1747.

On 1 July 1751 a royal warrant was issued which provided that in future regiments would no longer be known by their colonel's name, but would bear a regimental number based on their precedence: the regiment became the 37th Regiment of Foot. The second battalion became the 75th Regiment of Foot in 1758.

Introduction to the 6e Régiment d'Infanterie

The 6e Ligne was formed by old an new players of the community, as a small number of members in April 2017. They, being veterans of other Napoleonic War regiments, we wanted to create an atmosphere of respect, fun, and entertainment while playing NW. We achieve this by focusing on using excessive teamwork and tactics while playing the game. Our prime goals are to provide that same sense of comradery in and out of NW and into our other games we play.  Our rank structure promotes a meaningful, but not overdone, organisation and couples with our focus on using historical line tactics and commands.

We are consistently welcoming new players and focus on bringing players in that mesh with our attitudes and ideals. Rank advancement is possible – we have no set limit for any ranks, and take those that can showcase their capabilities in and out of game, and have shown dedication to the regiment over time.

We respect and ask that all new members respect everyone in this community, and we endeavor to achieve this goal daily.  In addition to our consistency in Napoleonic Wars, we play a wide variety of games and encourage members play together. We have members that turn up multiple times zones, so in the event you’re staying up late, we are certain that you will have someone to play with! Our current list of games changes consistently, so if you are even remotely interested in playing with us, whether you are a veteran of Napoleonic Wars or a beginner, no matter the age, you are welcome to join us, just add one of the following recruitment liaisons on Steam. See you on the battlefield!

Our aim in Napoleonic Wars

For us to accomplish that we will build up a strong core of disciplined and mature individuals. The regiment will focus on melee and shooting, trainings will be arranged and set to get the best out of the members. We will act as a line to have fun on public servers however, we can also play various other units such as light infantry and artillery, to keep the entertainment at its peak.

Cadet Guidebook

The individuals of this regiment are always joyful when a new member joins in. We will always gladly welcome everyone who shows interest by joining the regiment. Cadets are expected to be motivated and having the will to become enhanced by improving in-game. If you are active for 1 week, meaning that if you attend 2-3 events within the week it will award you the promotion to Soldat de Deuxiéme and then from there you will slowly progress through the ranks with melee skill and discipline. If there is a problem, and you don't feel yourself well within the regiment, don't hesitate to contact an Officer or Non-Commissioned Officer as they are always available and would really want to help. Isolated training sessions will be given to Cadets who are not really familiar or experienced with the commands and standards of the regiment. Melee training will also be given to those who ask for it or who would like to know a few tips or tricks. The tags we will be using will be 6e_Ligne_Rank_Name. Historical names are optional, if you wish to claim a specific name, then do contact a CO or an NCO so that we can list you down as that known name.

Introduction

The 21st Royal North British Fusiliers was formed by old and new players of the community, as a small number of members in January 2018. Our rank structure promotes a meaningful, but not overdone, organisation and couples with our focus on using historical line tactics and commands in both Napoleonic Wars and Persistent Frontier. We brag over several years of experience, and over this time, the Regiment is anything but average. We are consistently welcoming new players and focus on bringing players in that mesh with our attitudes and ideals. Many of those members have stayed and remain here to this day. Rank advancement is possible, we have no set limit for any ranks, and take those that can showcase their capabilities in and out of game, and have shown dedication to the Regiment over time.

We mainly focus on playing Persistent Frontier as a group, to bring the mod back to life and to also enjoy ourselves, being strict and disciplined doesn't come into play often as we've said, we're only here for fun and the end of the day. If you wish to join the 1st add either one of the Steam contacts down below, see you on the battlefield soldier!

Organisation of the Regiment

The Regiment will consist of Line Infantry for the time being. In Regimental linebattles, however, we will work with formations and try to re-enact historical line formations. These formations require high discipline and knowledge of the game and the commands. One example of this is a double firing column with line infantry and officers standing behind them. If we come to use various other units we'll be using light infantry as a flanking force with devastating firepower. We will try to bring historical 1800s fighting as realistic as possible to the battlefield in Persistent Frontier.

The Regiment will also use a wide variety of historical British military ranks. These ranks will be shown in-game, but they will be in the Teamspeak as well. Reaching higher ranks in the Enlisted section requires you to be skillful and very loyal. Special ranks and medals will be given to people who make the best out of the Regiment and show their very best on the battlefield. We'll also award certain individuals that recruit a specific amount, of people into the Regiment. This can award you a medal of some sort on Teamspeak or a Steam voucher depending on how active the new recruits are.

Trainings & Promotions

Here in the 21st Royal North British Fusiliers, we have a weekly training on Tuesdays, 7pmGMT. These help us to develop ourselves and the Regiment, we experiment with new tactics and formations and train in besieging forts and defensive/offensive strategies. It is not only on the battlefield that you can prove your melee and shooting for promotion but in the training field too. After trainings there will be a small debrief and promotions moment, were certain individuals of the Regiment who have deserved a promotion, are either promoted or medals get given out. There will be a channel for both on how to get promoted and how to earn medals in our Teamspeak! Promotions and certain medals can be handed out for those who recruit above the certain number they need to get before awarded, with that being said, we will also have community nights, nights were members of the Regiment can freely come on Teamspeak to play specific games with other members to make our community more active and encouraging for others. There will be recruitment nights, which will take place every Wednesdays at 6pmGMT.

|History|

The Old Guard (French Vieille Garde) were the elite veteran elements of the Emperor Napoleon's Imperial Guard. As such it was the most prestigious formation in Napoleon's Grande Armée.
In 1804 after his crowning, Napoleon transformed the Consular Guard into the Imperial Guard (Garde Imperiale).
A decree of July 29, 1804, stated: “The Consular Guard will take the title of Imperial Guard". The decree also described recruitment: "Each regiment of infantry, cavalry, foot and horse artillery, and each battalion of the train, prepared a list of 6 NCOs or privates likely to be called upon to belong to the Guard, having met the measurements of the needs of that Corps.

Regiments / 37th (North Hampshire) Regiment of Foot [EU/Recruiting]
« on: August 29, 2017, 04:14:26 pm »
