Introduction
The 110e Régiment d'Infanterie is a North American based Iron Europe regiment consisted of members with experience in NW and other mods for it. The goal of the 110e is to create a mature, enjoyable experience for all those that play Iron Europe and those within the regiment. In order to maintain a mature and enjoyable environment, the 110e maintains a serious level of play while playing for fun.
Brief History of the 110e
The 110e régiment d'infanterie was created in 1692 and was known as the 50e régiment d'infanterie. On the 18th of August, 1772 the 50e was renamed "régiment de Port-au-Prince" and became one of the four regiments to serve the American Colonies. In 1792, the régiment de Port-au-Prince was renamed to the 110e régiment d'infanterie. Shortly after being renamed to the 110e, the 110e were recalled to France to serve in the war in the Vendée region of Les Sables d'Olonne in 1809, the 110e were gradually vanquished by their long period of fighting and disease. In 1870, the 110e was reborn during the siege of Paris. Things were uneventful for the 110e until WWI. In WWI the 110e started off in support of the Belgian border on the Western Front. The 110e participated in the Battle of Verdun in 1916, the Battle of the Somme in 1917, and the Battle of the Marne in 1918. 217 citations were awarded to soldiers of the regiment during the WWI. The role of the 110e following WWI decreased greatly. During WWII, despite the lack of air support and armored reinforcements, the 110e held their ground against the 3rd Panzer Division, however were defeated and were forced to retreat from the position they were holding. Despite almost being completely wiped out the regiment was maintained until the order to retire was given in 1940. In 1944 the 110e was recreated, and did not see much fighting after the recreation.
