I host a N&S LB every wednesday, infantry only and a no spreading rule. Shoulder to shoulder fighting. ive been hosting it for almost a year and still there are people saying there are no shoulder to shoulder events >.<

Linebattles should be more about shoulder to shoulder formations

As cool as it looks in the films e.g Gettysburg and Gods & Generals, the fact that linebattles aren't shoulder to shoulder is what makes North & South fun and different from the tediousness of Napoleonic Wars.

If you don't like line infantry than you sir are playing the wrong game all together whether it be N&S or NW. Go play CoD, nub.

If you do shoulder to shoulder line formations,  extend your rounds to something like 6 or 7 and don't expect regiments smalller than 12 people applying.

Going back to my suggestion of mixing everyone up then putting them into random teams to make best use of linear tactics.

This would be great fun if people would be good enough to listen to a single officer. The chances of getting people to all work together as a full formed and functioning unit under a given set of officers and NCOs would be a nightmare. There is also the issue of trolls who might go on TK rampages.
