a good admin will hopefully prevent such an abuse of the all-charge-rules. I just think with such a rule cav becomes - once more - painfully weak, especially since just with a sword on the ground a group of dismounted cav doesn’t really stand a chance in a big melee

So sorry for missing this aswell mate!

Last season cav didn't have to dismount in all-charges (as they don't have to in 33rd casual events) but it was met with some displeasure as some units would simply wait for the all-charge if a match was particularly campy (which I couldn't blame them for). I suppose I changed this to give the most mobile unit on the field an incentive to engage, but as we've already discussed with their lower numbers this may be counter intuitive... I changed this rule on a whim tbf from experience in the past tournie but I am more than happy to revert if others agree.

I definitely think cavalry should not have to dismount in the all-charge.  Seems somewhat unfair to force a unit into a disadvantage and like you have previously explained, with the lower numbers the incentive would be to support the line infantry regiments and avoid combat if possible until they are prepared to engage.  Feels like they're being punished for what they are being asked to do.
