Why do I have to be whitelisted to join EU MM? The answer is probably somewhere but I dont want to go searching. And I guess can I be whitelisted too?

if you're already registered on the website, join one of the EU servers with the registered name and your id will be linked to your account on the website and if you're in a match you can join a match.

To stop people across the ocean from intentionally trolling or feeding and thus ruining games. Same goes vice versa. Only decent/non trolly people tend to get whitelisted if they ask

Yep, it was only implemented in the most recent matchmaking seasons. Though if you still are keen to keep playing EU, you can ask to be whitelisted :)
