If this isn't a place to ask for unbans then what is this thread for? Because to be honest it seems more like  a stage for people to argue with the 15th than anything else.

Anyone using it for the other purpose you explained will be dealt with, as evidenced and explained multiple times throughout this thread by nearly every member of the moderation team.

Hi, i got banned months ago, (like pre-2014, iirc) i dont even remember what i was banned for

i know this thread isnt for unban requests, but judging the circumstances id like to ask for unban and given a second chance on this server becauseit happened so long ago.

Do not waste your time posting unban requests here unless there are any extenuating circumstances concerning your permanent ban! Do feel free to make intelligent comments about the server, the maps and to report any trouble makers on the server. If you are reporting a trouble maker be sure to tell us the exact time in GMT and give supporting evidence in the form of screenshots etc. If you are unable to provide the time of an offence and offer some visual evidence of a player`s wrong doing then we are unlikely to be able to do anything about the matter.

I'd like to know where I may appeal my permanent ban, or at least know why it was done. I don't want to post my appeal only to learn it was in the wrong place.

Hey, about pretty much a year ago i was perma-banned for swearing a few times (i get rage :3)
So, i was hoping i could be un-banned. I mean, after a year i think i longer need to be perma banned, i learned my lesson.

There is no must about it. It's their server, their rules. They can ban everyone whose name begins with the letter A if they want to. It's a privilege to be allowed to play on any given server, so you read and obey the rules of it or suffer the consequences.
Admittedly, many servers do allow appeals, but there is nothing forcing them to do so.
