About us

The 84th Pennsylvania is a regiment in Battle Cry of Freedom. Originally founded by
TheJollyCanadian and Glenn on 1/01/21. Although the 84th is a primarily North American based regiment,
we also are happy to have players from around the globe. If you are interested in joining, read on!

The 84th currently exists as the 84th on NW but we will be attending a handfull of linebattles a week, These events include artillery, cavalry, and line to conduct large scale battles. This is a fantastic way to get more from this game, and also be part
of a fun and friendly gaming community. If you're interested in joining the 84th contact
an officer on steam for more information!

Introduction
The North American Napoleonic Wars Draft League (NWDL for short) will be a fast-paced public league (likely 2 matches per week) with the best players in North America being drafted to several teams by appointed/registered captains from the player pool. These drafted teams of 10 (6 starters, 4 subs) will be named by the NWDL staff and assigned to team captains. We are aiming for a total of 7 teams. The main focus of this league is the community itself and so input will be taken from community members as well NWDL staff to contribute to the growth of this league. NWDL differs from other draft leagues (namely WPC) primarily because of its administration and rule set. There will be no gimmick of salaries, team captains are restricted from leaving the team they have drafted, and trades will be making a return to be implemented differently. The draft in season 3 will also be conducted as a snake draft this season instead of a round by round draft. Only players who are mature enough to conduct themselves in a professional manner may be permitted to participate in this league.

Draft (Date: Saturday, November 14th)
The draft will be fairly simple. Captains and draft order will be decided by NWDL staff, then the draft will begin in a snake draft style. The snake draft format is as follows: R1 - 123456 R2 - 654321 R3 - 123456 R4 - 654321 etc. Captains will be drafting 6 starting players and 4 bench players. Players will be drafted to these set teams of 7 and any undrafted players will be placed in the free agency pool.

High-Low 2v2 Tournament

Introduction

The Idea of this tourney thanks to pickle, is we'll have the highest tiered player partnered with the lowest tiered player. players will be put into three tiers(probably) then the teams will be picked. ex. 1st seed player from tier 1 partnered with last seed player from tier 3. Assuming we'll have mostly equal numbers for high & low tier, middle tier will be 1st seed & last seed in the middle tier partnered.
We'll use stats from the previous leagues & personal knowledge.
Thread is a WIP, rules will be coming out in the next couple days. This is just to see interest & get sign-ups goings.

Events: NA / NRP/BBG Campaign Event 7.0 (starts Sept 26th)
« on: September 14, 2020, 06:59:00 pm »
Introduction

Hello everyone! I’m back with some amazing news! The North American BBG/NRP Campaign is back!
On September 26th 9pm EST
With dedicated server admins, our events will take place again! They will be a series of public line battles that have their score tracked. Each battle will determine on board army victories/movements. The faction that defeats the other sides armies, or gains enough "Victory Points" wins!here

With dedicated server admins, these events will be a series of public line battles that have their score tracked. Each battle will determine on board army victories/movements. The faction that defeats the other sides armies, or gains enough "Victory Points" wins!

The BBG / NRP Campaign: What is it?
The NRP/BBG Campaign is essentially a hybrid of public and organised regimental play. NRP has been the largest community of public-driven battle roleplays in the NW Community for several years, providing large scale wargames with enough rules to bring immersion and organisation without the rigid and limited aspect of regimental-based gameplay. Now they have teamed up with BBG, the largest North American community known to date, to bring this campaign to everyone in North America once again!

A Campaign will be set either in a historical or fictional setting, and the players through their actions will be able to decide the outcome.
Every single layer of the Campaign is fully controlled by players, and driven by players.

-Each faction has a Command Structure, which players can apply to become part of
-Command Structures can select generals for specific lines or units, which players can all become
-Each faction has a designated Leader who acts as the go-between for their faction and the admin team

There are victory conditions and mechanics in place to allow for a tactical progression of the campaign based on the outcomes of battles, allowing for an immersive and dynamic experience unparalleled in Napoleonic Wars.

NRP/BBG Campaign Battles: How do they work?
Battles in the NRP/BBG Campaign are similar to those you would see in a typical regimental match, only with adjustments for immersion, fun and breathing room to accommodate the public nature of the server.
Each line is lead by an officer, however there are few limits as to who can join what line beyond the Officer Slot itself. Players are free to pick and choose whatever unit they please, however of course limits are placed on unit allowances for the sake of balance.
Units will then follow their officer and his orders, and the rest is up to the players!
The faction leader chooses his Officers before each event. Often Officers are Public players, or regiment leaders who bring their regiment to the event.

Rules & Guidelines

NRP/BBG In-Game Event Rules
In order for the Campaign events to run as smoothly we have set up rules. These rules go as followed:
Battle Phase Terminology
Not Live - The event has not started yet, or has ended.
Live - The event has started and rounds lost/won will influence the campaign.
All Charge - All players must stop reloading and attack the enemies closest to their position.
In an all charge the admins will remove all ammo leaving muskets with one single shot which may be fired during the all-charge.

Event Rules
- Follow your Officer of the correct class. (Flag-beacon displayed on top of his head due to server scripts)
- All Cav must follow General (Flag-beacon displayed on top of his head due to server scripts)
- If your officer is killed, stay in a group with your Flag Bearer until you find another Officer.

All-Charge Rules
- No Firing a cannon after all-charge is called
- No reloading during an all-charge
- No retreating during an all-charge

Basic Server Rules
- Do not Rambo. (Not following an officer)
- No spamming in-chat
- No BP waste/sapper spam or waste of BP

Public Play Rules
- Crouching is allowed
- Firing in charge is allowed(Ammo will be removed, and everyone will be left with one shot if they were loaded).
- Officer Aiming allowed but not encouraged.

Note for Regiments* You will not be exempt from the officer rules, if you want to fight together then you will need someone in the officer class to follow.
Reserve Officer slots by contacting one of the faction leaders.

In a typical NRP/BBG Battle, expect to see;
-Up to 200 Players battling it out in immersive Napoleonic Warfare
- A representation of cohesion and morale as lines or command may dissolve should an Officer fail to keep his men in order when the casualties start piling up
- Handcrafted maps designed to allow for choke points and killing fields, ensuring that any battle's tide can be turned by smart leadership
- Truly dynamic gameplay; no NRP Battle is the same as any other, and even the lowly ranker can watch the battle unfold before him in a myriad of layered tactical incidents
- Organisation with room to breathe; as an officer, you are free to employ unorthodox or risky methods if you believe it's in your best interest. Fire in charge, officer targeting, sapper forting and artillery guarding are all permitted provided they are not done with the intention of trolling or disrupting play!

*Officers are encouraged to use the NRP or BBG Discord which has been specifically tailored to make co-operative play amongst different officers viable and extremely useful.

Should I bring my regiment?
Absolutely!
NRP/BBG Campaign can be an excellent place for some relaxed but competitive practice for your regiment, as well as advertising your regiment to public players. Officers are chosen by the faction leader, so if a regiment wishes to lead a line in one of the events, all they have to do is contact the faction leader to see if they can have an Officer slot.

The NRP/BBG Campaign-How does it progress?
We have devised a ruleset and mechanics which allow the NRP/BBG Campaign to progress as if it was a board game.
Each Faction will have One leader, and two generals. The Faction leader will be able to move his armies or attack another army on the Campaign map. Each battle will be scored, and armies have health points.

These public line battles will last roughly 10-14 weeks. They will be every Saturday 9pm EST until one faction is defeated on the campaign map. The events will be played on the server named BBG_NRP_Campaign
-
*You can view the complete rules to the Campaign here

Server Provider

Servers are provided by Warlance Gaming. They've been supporting the NA NW community for years with quality servers, fair prices, and amazing customer service.

Information & Rules

The league will hopefully be only 3 weeks long with every team participating in a BO3 series, rounds being a BO30 (First to 16 wins, 15-15 tie will result in a bo6 overtime if it gets to 3-3 the match will result in a tie unless its playoffs.) Games can be played at any time and day in the week as long as there is a ref or myself present on the server. Melee speed will be set to fastest throughout the league and it will be hosted on my own private server with custom groupfighting maps, created by Papabean. The draft occured on the 4th of September and was livestreamed.

Introduction

You've been asking for a regimental 1v1 league and instead of a boring NANWL we'll be doing another season of North American Premier League Season 9! We're just using the name it's not actually NAPL. This will be opened to all regiments in the NA community.

Format

Depending on the amount of regiments that sign-up we will have two format options.
Option 1: Group Stage
8 regiments:
2 groups, 4 regiments per group.
Top 2 seeds of each group continue to the playoffs
There will be one playoff bracket.

10 regiments:
Same format only this time the top 3 seeds of each group will continue to the playoffs.

Option 2:
12 regiments:
2 Groups, 6 Regiments per group
The top 4 of each group will continue to the playoffs.
There will be two playoff brackets.
1st & 2nd seeds of each group go to the professional bracket playoff
3rd & 4th seeds of each group go to the semi pro bracket playoff

Rules

We'll be using the NANWL season 9 ruleset since everyone is familiar with them and it's been the basic ruleset for all regimental 1v1s.

Competitive NA Events/Tournaments / Potential Regimental 1v1 league
« on: August 25, 2020, 10:52:02 pm »
Looking to see who and what regiments are interested in doing a regimental 1v1 league. I am currently seeing how many regiments would join(and not drop out) to see if it would be worth hosting. This is not NANWL or another league. I am not confirming or denying that I may be the hoster of this league.

Please answer the poll and use the formats below.
