Also, I really love the Rome series. The characters are so vibrant (and somehow manage to be personally involved in every major historical event in the span of ~10 years from the beginning of the civil war). If I recall correctly, Lindybeige, who is notoriously hard to please, praised the costumes and sets in the show for being historically accurate.

What battle scenes though? Was the only criticism I had for the show; 10 second battle montage then: 'send word to Rome, tell them Caeser has won' ... Did that with at least 4 massive battles as I remember. then again they were so broke from what they DID do that the show had to be cancelled. x)
