American Revolutionary War uniforms
« on: January 27, 2013, 01:35:47 am »
I need data on these, mainly drawings and pictures, would be really appreciated. I am doing a small history project about it, and I need that stuff..... What I need for each faction:

USA
Spoiler

-Militia uniforms, maybe a flag or two
-Regular infantry uniforms, incl. sgts and officers, also a flag or two
-Marines uniform, if they had any....
-If no marines, than some well-known elite regiment of infantry, maybe grenadiers?
-Some cavalry unit uniforms, incl. sgts and officers, and a flag
-Artillery uniforms, officers included
-Some fine general's uniform or something, maybe also some details about medals given out here???

Britain
Spoiler
-Regular infantry uniforms, incl. sgts and officers, also a flag
-Grenadiers uniforms, incl. sgts and officers, also a flag for them specifically
-Hessian infantry uniforms, incl. sgts and officers, also a flag for them specifically
-Dragoons uniform, incl. sgts and officers, flag if possible too?
-Artillery uniforms, incl. officers
-Info on medals given out and carried on higher officers' (generals) uniforms, did they really carry them most of the time in battle?

Thanks in advance ;)
And about the medals, include HD pics please or just name them if it's like "Order of the Bath" or something.....

medals didnt really come into fashion until the 1800's but there were some medals given to soldiers in the british army for long time service every 7 years or so and they could use that medal for passing a guard if they did not know the pass word. but the prussians had a little more medals but i would have to look more into what they all gave them

also with the british the grenadiers were not a separate unit but were part of one regiment to a regiment would have about 10 companies 1 grenadier company 8 center or battalion companies and 1 light infantry company and the color were only carried but the center companies in battle because the grenadiers and lights were flanking companies.

and ill get the pictures to you as soon as i can
