Classes- M&B classes or Custom?
« on: November 11, 2012, 09:14:27 pm »
Would you guys prefer the same type of classes that NW offered, but with a wider selection, or should each regiment be able to have custom ones?
Obviously customs would be cool, however that brings up the question of melee/shooting stats. Will accuracy depend only on the weapon, or will the type of class you are still affect it? I'd like to hear some thoughts. With custom classes I'm mainly concerned with uniforms.

Classes, but the old school pick and choose your uniform. Basically keep it like Native when picking gear. That way we can have fully customizable outfits.

Hopefully no one would run around with Zouave pants and something like 20th Maine tops. That would look ridiculous.

Hey, if the 20th Maine Volunteer Zouaves want a 20th Maine Kepi, and Zouave trousers, by George let them have it.

I assume there will be some sort of customisation, after all civil war regiments didn't have a standardised uniform(apart from the obvious blue and grey) and most battles were commonly depicted as being "colourful".

Customization would sure make a lot of sense for the Confederates, but many Union regiments had issued uniforms, so it would be less accurate.

I'm a fan of Napoleon's system, it keeps the playing field even between new players and veterans.

Class system with slight customization.
Of course, I also think lines should be able to move in double rank without having emotional breakdowns.

I prefer to have classes with some customization, like hats and some uniforms, but still fitting in the same class.

We will post more information about that in a Dev blog soon, keep updated!

And if you can not wait any longer, we got a Donations Forum, for all the people who donated, where you can ask questions, suggest features etc.

www.fsegames.eu/donations.php

We realise at the moment keeping discussion only on released information is difficult as we haven't released all that much, but we will so hold your horses!

tbh I want a completely new game to MB.

I don't want MB Native selection screen thingy becuase it just ends up with what Millander said... something similar to the NW one is good.

What would be cool would be to implement a system that allows a clan (regiment) to make their own uniform(s) and use it, while the other peoples clients would run some kind of download the next time the game opens, much like how custom banners work in cRPG.

Probably explained that really derpishly, but eh.  ;)

I'm wondering how the facial customization is planned, like is there going to be accordance like in NW. However one thing that disappointing me in NW was that they removed many of the beards that i enjoyed to make room for these accessories. I hope there will be a vast variation of customization
