December 2019The 33rd is as ever, openly Recruiting! We attend multiple events every week; four of which we run ourselves with no commitment beyond one event a week required to stay on our Roster. We maintain four active companies - two of which are Line with Lights and Cavalry to support, with 136 members on the strength as of December 2019; This company system allows us to contribute a large presence as one whole regiment in our events, whilst maintaining smaller communities in which individual members can play their part and make a difference!
October and November have been quiet months for the 33rd, with tournament activity taking a back seat and just steadily running our usual events. Our competitive team has however kept pace with a good amount of matches played week on week, also looking to expand into playing matches on Tuesdays (usual NW time).
Events wise our Historical event has hit an impressive milestone of over 100 custom maps across 18 scenarios, the latest of which was developed recently by Corporal Aldrich and Private CryingNoob - thanks to them for bringing us the Battle of Friedland 1807. The Monday Internal event is also having a re-boot, responsibility for which will lie with all companies, to keep the trainings fresh and with renewed enthusiasm week on week.
Congratualtions are in order to newly comissioned Ensigns Duffman and Stypa, of the Cavalry troop and No.3 company respectively - we wish you the very best of luck in your new positions. Heartfelt thanks to Captian Sneakyfellow of No.2 company for his service, who having helped build No.2 company from the ground up and help run it for the past 3 years, has opted to take a back seat and step down as an enlisted man; In his long history with the 33rd (since 2012) we have seen him rise in the ranks twice - I'm sure there'll be a 3rd time!
Here's to a good December all... Long Live the King and his 33rd Regiment!

The Light Company - active service
The Light Company is a melee focused company, made up of not only 33rd veterans but also up and coming members looking to improve. During events the Light company acts as a guarilla force, being able to take any enemy regiment one on one, whether it be a line, cav, or light force often utilising ambush tactics. The Lights are the most "Free" in terms of formation and rules of any company/class, They have no need to walk in line but instead can spread out to 5 man spaces and can take cover behind trees and rocks. Due to the flexibility required in game and being a limited number company, activity and skill are equally important when considering to apply to the Light company. "The Pattern"

The Cavalry Company - active service
The Cavalry Company is comprised of light cavalry, is versatile and acts as a support group during events. Due to our unique ability to move across the battle in a short space of time, we are able to act as scouts to inform our fellow companies of potential threats and create ambushes, use hit and run tactics to disrupt and disorganize the enemy and use brute force engagements to remove threats or pin the enemy down. Our formations and method of fighting allow members to use their own initiative and skills whilst simultaneously working with fellow company members and remaining as one unit. Similarly to the Lights we are a limited number company so close teamwork, discipline and commitment are must have attributes. "The Unfortunate Gentleman"

No.2 Centre - active service
The No.2 centre company "The Dukes Own" is one of the line companies of the 33rd and is also presently the default company, in to which most new members enlist - as such many new faces come and go from within their ranks. The majority of its members however represent a solid core of active players, familiar to each other and ranked Fusilier or above. The company upholds the core values of the regiment to a high standard, setting an example to all new members who enter the community of the regiment. Trainings and warm-ups are focused appropriately depending on the coming event by a highly experienced set of staff; these may consist of anything from basic melee techniques and groupfighting do's and dont's, to company drill in single or double rank. You will find yourself welcome within the ranks of No.2 Company if you are mature, disciplined and have a good standard of melee - or are willing to learn. "The Dukes Own"

No.3 Centre Company - active service
The 33rd's No.3 Company "The KGL" joined the battalion in October 2017 and are commanded by Captain Kaiser. Their numbers have grown steadily since then and they have developed into a solid line company of the 33rd, able to act alone or in support of other companies. The companies single ranked drill is exemplary and their ability to square up to an enemy line 1 on 1 and fire effectively is well practiced! Its members have close ties, built up from experiences in prior NW regiments. During events the company teamspeak is relaxed and light-hearted banter encouraged, but kept balanced with a disciplined approach, when called for by its dedicated staff. "The KGL"

Also Happy B-day Boney the ogre!

This is amazing George xD, also love how you spelt my name in the top rightI want to read all the latest gossip in the 33rd.SpoilerWhat I gotThe past month has been a month of flux for the membership of the 33rd, with summer bringing many new faces whilst others head off to enoy the sun for a month or more! As a result the regiment has pulled together massively to achieve the high attendance required of our current tournament NWBC, which with the help of the 1steIvN we have managed to reach. Our first two matches of the group stage are complete and could not have been more different from one another; from the chaos of our first match we worked on our coordination heavily to pull out a win in the second - looking forward to our final match of the group stage and also taking part in CCL later this month! Our No.3 company is also taking a short break during this period but will reform during come September.!
Here's to a good August all... Long Live the King and his 33rd RegimentWhat I expected[close]
when i was Col of 18th we were having ideas with 2v2 Linebattles..... its literally as basic as it sounds, 2 regiments vs another 2.... each team has many ways they can go about it, e.g. stick together, pretend to be 1 massive line, or 1 line distract while the other flank.... any similar concept to those would interest me. either way gl with whichever u choose kinky!
Edit: so NWBC pretty much is what im saying, but with however many regiments u choose per side.
Thanks bae x
Essentially this is what i'm proposing (as in it's on a comparatively small scale) but with the addition of the cav and lights to spice things up and let bigger regs use their additional companies. No FiC rules and 50v50 will allow for a decent proportion of melee to shooting I reckon with less lag than your typical LB.

June 2019The past month has been one of recognition for our staff efforts, many having been promoted for jobs well done! This wave of promotions saw four of our officers gazetted ranks, including two Captains and two new Ensigns. The NCO ranks of four Corporals and one serjeant were also appointed, we wish them luck in their new roles and thank them for their hard work over the last year. We continue to press on with 1v1 matches, claiming respectable scores in EIC, Cavalry and a win in another 60v60. The Competitive groupfighting team however take pride of place, with an identical set of scores to last month; 7 wins to 1 loss - well done to them and here's to a good June all!
