The regimental list is here to show the project of units, so it's not about being an asshole (you may claim to be one) or not, it's about keeping a good organization and prevent dramas.....
So everyone can do not care about the fact that some people create a project with players, and can for example claim the 20th Maine ? Be a little bit serious...

Well, it's so stupid, because it creates some confusion about units, for example for events, for the guys who play with us..... That's why there are several tacit rules, to keep forums clear and to prevent some stupid dramas, as we know that it's disrepectful to recrut guys who are already in units in game (however, nobody can prevent it, if you want to be an asshole as you have said, you may be it).
