11th North Carolina Volunteer Infantry [NA]

The 11th NC Infantry was organized near Raleigh at Camp Mangum in March, 1862. During the battle of Gettysburg, the regiment lost over half of its ranks (617).
The Officers were: Colonel Collett Leventhorpe, Colonel William J. Martin, Lieutenant Colonel Francis W. Bird, William A. Owens and Major Egbert A. Ross. (Field Officers)
