NA All-Time Duelists/Groupfighters*UPDATE*
« on: August 08, 2018, 06:50:05 pm »

This is all my very valuable opinion on who were the top 10 BEST at dueling and groupfighting(I'll be adding a description to why they deserve to be there). None of these players are in any particular ranking, I leave that ranking system to your own evaluation. I will be adding sub-categories soon, again with 10 players in each one(Chambering, feinting, defense, etc). Msg me suggestions for a category. Again this is all subjective, as it's impossible to get an objective list on NW. Special thanks to Windflower for making the thread template/header!

Spoiler
RussianFury: RussianFury, a character very susceptible to rage, started off in the 71st and while he did not shine as much during that time, he was still a high tier GFer. During the latter years of NW and during the LG Russian dominated the groupfighting scene, constantly top fragging and impressing players with his ability to carry. He was quick to become one of the best GFers in the game.

Yoshie: The sweatiest player in NW, Yoshie has shown himself to be one of the greatest groupfighters to ever play the game, even challenging Russian himself. His hyper aggressive playstyle suits his hyper aggressive personality as he is able to cut through the groupfighting line line no-one else.

Jaax: Jaax is one of the trickiest players out there, being incredibly difficult to take down in 1vX scenarios and unstoppable when he is on a killstreak. Utilizing a style similar to that of Kovyjack, he relies on slippery footwork and top tier holds to get the job done.

AsianP: Probably the overall best player in NA, AsianP's GFing ability led him to carry regiments he was in, even while he was leading them. His consistency, patience, and dexterity gives him a undisputed spot on the list.

JackieChan: When you think about clutching, dominance, and hp hacks, Jackie is the only player who comes to mind. There is a reason why most players see him as the most dominant NA player of all time, and while the latter years of his career was lacking, he still managed to carry 63e competitively.

Zzehth: Everyone's favorite minority, Zzehth, is a GFer with a wealth of experience and game knowledge. Known for having one of the best defenses of the game, Zzehth is one of the greatest support players in NW, often funneling kills to Jackie in their 2v2 team, MAE.

Zorkoth: One of the many stars of the 12th and 2ndQF, Zorkoth is an expert on the flanks. He is able to hold off and distract many players, or find the perfect backstabs to finish the job. His huge troll personality along with his talent has a huge impact on whatever regiment he is in.

BillTheButcher: Probably the most controversial person in NW, Bill AKA "Maple's #1 Fan", is known to top frag on NAGF as well as holding a high KD ratio on the server. Credit is given where credit is due, and Bill's ability to GF and top frag is unlike anybody else in NW; he literally puts his opponent to sleep due to boredom and finishes them off, giving him a spot on the list.

Fireboy: Fireboy, or as he's most commonly known: "Firebad", is a top tier GFer who has an ability to work well with anybody he is with. While his choice is football teams is questionable, what isn't questionable is his natural talent when it comes to getting in the heat of a groupfight.

MATT: In the recent years MATT has proved to be one of the most talented players to touch the game, despite his allegations. He mastered the mechanics of the game and dominated in groupfighting for years until falling off presently. Being one of NW's biggest celebrities, he has always been a showman and entertainer, and is playstyle is no different.

Rafael: Another player with a wealth of game knowledge and strategy, Rafael is a very good duelist and GFer. Rafael is a quiet player and hasn't participated in too many tournaments or tried to boast his skill, but his presence in a linebattle or groupfight is well known and respected.

Runepkyz: The prodigal son Rune has always been a top tier player even since the early days. Like most new additions to the list however, his true talent has only shown through in the last 3 years. Calm and smooth as the rain, Runepkyz can dance around a line as if he were water itself.

Ghost: Another player who was not active past 2014, but has still remained one of the most in-form players ever. He can take years off NW and still come back to top frag in GFs. That along with him being the trainer in the 12th/18th gives him a spot on the list.

DjOverjoy: Even though Dj is known to be quite the troll, he is also a major carry in most regiments he joins. Most notably, the 45e where he was able to help carry the goon squad into becoming one of the best regiments during their peak. A solid, well rounded player with a strong defense.

Pj: "Captain Bittersteel", AKA Pj, is a grand performer in the art of GFing. His performances include being the 2nd best in 63e, and being a core player in the 2016 3eVolt lineup. He is the closet thing we have to a perfect specimen, earning him a spot on the list.

RitZ: No, not to be confused with Ritz407 (Whoever that is), RitZ with a hard Z is without a doubt the most important player in terms of melee that the 3eVolt ever had. Known for being the progenitor of the turkish kick in NA, RitZ is a powerful duelist and GFer. He is also probably the best NW player at Native.

Cwater: During his earlier years Cwater didn't show any signs of him rising through the ranks and becoming a top tier GFer, but somewhere along the way he developed a playstyle that would cause many to rage. He has been on top of the MM leaderboards as well as carrying in many GFs, earning him a spot.

Alexander: Maybe the most arguable person on this list, I believe Alexander's GFing ability was very good especially during the time of the infamous 75th. His style is very similar to BillTheButcher's where he basically tranquilizes his opponent then finishes them off. A great testament to his patience is his Ft7 with Bill, where it lasted more than 30 minutes.

Lithios: One of the other carries of the 9y, Lithios is considered to be one of the best players during 2013, even being able to give Jackie a run for his money during his arrival. He is one of Canada's best overall players, and he showed during his time in NW. While past 2015 he was very inactive and barely played, he was still able to be very competent in the cancerous meta.

Yoloswag: This new gen has recently become a very skilled groupfighter and has stood the test of time to stand among the best. He deserves a spot on the list.

Spoiler
JackieChan: Easily one of the best duelists NA has ever had, arguably the best player NA has ever had. With some of the strongest chambers in the game, Jackie is always a name that comes to mind when you think of star players.

Achilles: In my opinion, Achilles is probably the most criminally underrated players of recent memory. In terms of dueling ability alone, this guy was a powerhouse, with easily some of the best block chambering i've ever seen.

AsianP: One of the best overall players in the game, but also one of the most consistent duelists in all of NA NW. Unparalleled IQ and a strong jawline, Asian"BiForAYear"P goes on without question.

Godfried: Everyone's 3rd favorite Canadian player, Godfried, has dominated the dueling scene for the majority of late 2016-2018. Utilizing a passive/aggressive style that focuses on minimizing mistakes and profiting on the opponents'.

Tammo: The NA Golden Boy, Maple 2.0, Mr.2012, etc, Tammo has many names within the NW community, but is respected as being one of the best duelists in the early parts of NW. Tammo uses an ultra aggressive playstyle, to great effect, making him one of the best NA duelists.

Maple: Tammo 2.0, Washuple, 7-0edBillple, are just a few nick-names the premier duelist Maple has been given, however probably his most known name, "The Boy Wonder". Using a style reliant on chambers and stuns, Maple was one of the star duelists for the majority of 2015-2016.

AP0CALYPSE: Another player who is recognized to be a powerful duelist, and the architect of drama for NW, AP0C was a very dominant player from the early years of NW to even the latter. He uses a counter heavy style that was very hard to break.

Havoc: Havoc was a class A duelist in 2013, winning one of the biggest tournaments during that time. However, missing the taste of glorious melee Havoc returned to NW to quickly become on the best duelists out there. A known meta slave, Havoc is a player to be cautious of.

Kovy: AKA Maple's sidekick, Kovy is probably the most slippery player in all of NW, his master footwork has been the backbone of his style and he's used to beat every wannabe duelist in NW. One of the most unique styles in NW.

Pinoy: Another criminally underrated player, Pinoy does not have much in terms of tournament wins, but I believe he is/was one of the most mechanically gifted players in all of NW. It is never a bore to watch or play against Pinoy, and that's rare in itself.

Padre Suns: Another player with not many tournament achievements, but has always been in the top 5 duelists for the past 2-3 years. Padre The Cancer of NW Suns is another meta slave who focuses on high defense and counterchambering to whittle his opponent down to mental collapse. He deserves a spot in this category.

Lithios: A player who wasn't dominant too long, but while he was there was one of the best duelists/players around. Lithios, or as he's better known, "Double X", was a true Canadian egg and one of the "players to beat" back in the day.

Puppytron: For a short time was considered one of the best duelists in NA. Poopytron is added to the list as a bonus because he wasn't very consistent, and his career was short lived. However recently he comes on for periods of time and is still in good shape. When he tries his chambers are on point.

MATT: MATT has truly become one of the best duelists in the game, and could easily have an argument for being top 5 in the game. He deserves a spot.

HONORABLE MENTIONS:

Chambering
JackieChan: No surprise here, JackieChan was without a doubt one of the best players in the game in terms of chambering. His chambers were incredible fast and precise, with a lot of them giving you little time to react. He was also one of the first players to use feint chambering effectively.

Maple: A player well known for his chambering, Maple heavy relies on them as they are a core part of his style. One of the first players to incorporate blockchambering into his play-style, as well as being inventive with the application of chambering itself.

AsianP: AsianP is a great player when it comes to chambering, however, his real strength lies in his ability to rechamber. Most of Asian's rechambers can be the deciding factor in a duel, making it extremely deadly for a wannabe chamber.

Cade: Cade and his chambering is what gave him the spotlight during the height of his NW career. With skill that seemed to appear out of the thin air, Cade impressed everyone when he showcased his devastating up chambers.

MATT: A master of mechanics, MATT has shown himself to have some of the most crisp and unforgiving chambers in NW. Borrowing techniques from the legends of the past, MATT masters and perfects chambering like no other.

Puppytron: During Puppy's prime, he was able to destroy most of the competition with his fast chambers, most of the time following them up with a kick to finish the job. Without a doubt Puppy has some of the best chambers in the game.

Steven: Steven's chambering ability is overlooked due to him not attending many competitive events, but he has one of the best up chambers in all of NW. This isn't to say Steven was a amateur at downchambering; quite the opposite actually, but his ability to chamber up attacks shined more than the latter.

Tammo: Well respected for his feint chambers, Tammo picked up his chambering style in the latter years of his career, making it a staple for his play-style. Very consistent and very dangerous, his chambers made any player cautious to attack him.

Mang: The chambers Mang could pull off in tense situations were no laughing matter and although his incredibly low ping definitely had an impact on his ability, I guarantee he would be just as proficient if it was average.

Pinoy This guy's chambers are insane. Pinoy is one of the few people who wasn't afraid to attempt to chamber most attacks, or attempt to rechamber them. Also very good at chambering from a feinting position.

HONORABLE MENTIONS:

Defense
DjOverjoy: There is no denying Dj's expertise when it comes to defense in NW. He has one of the most solid defenses i've seen, as he can effortlessly defend against most chambers or "stuns". He is always someone you can depend on to take the blunt of the damage in any teamfight.

Zzehth: During his time Zzhehth was hailed to have the best defense in the game largely because of his insurmountable levels of patience and top notch blocks. Most of his fights would be drawn out because he didn't really have any surprises for his opponent; he just knew all of your surprises and how to counter them.

Godfried: Without a doubt Godfried has had one of the best defenses of recent memory. During 2015-2017 I was shocked at his ability to stop aggressive players dead in their tracks, consequently leading to a shift in meta to favor more passive play-styles. Not only is his blocking top of the line, but his counter chambering is rivaled by few.

AP0CALYPSE: This guy was a beast during his prime. He had a more passive/aggressive way of playing, but that did nothing to stop his unmatched counters and stuns. While he wasn't quite as sharp during the latter part of his career, when he dumped hours into the game he was unstoppable. One of the few players who I truly respect, AP0C earns a spot on the list.

KOSJ: Quite an underrated player due to his inactive state in the competitive scene, I think he deserves some recognition. Knight of StJohn is an excellent defensive player who can shut down most with his timed blocks and unexpected feints, giving him a spot.

Sleek: A known complainer in the community, Sleek has a little bit of an attitude problem, but it would be criminal to overlook his mastery in the art of defense. I have no doubt in my mind that Sleek is one of the best blockers in NA NW, as I've seen him hold off up to 4 opponents or more with expert precision. Truly a player worth recognition as of recent years.

Alexander: While Alexander was an underdog most of his NW career, that does not mean he didn't have one of the most impressive defenses of 2015/16. He is probably the closet I've seen to Zzehth in terms of sheer patience and cunning. He is not afraid to draw out a fight as long as it needs to be in order for him to be on top.

Pj: The undisputed star of NW, Pj is a celebrity in the world of blocking and defense. Pj is a very passive/aggressive player who is very well balanced in his offensive and defensive abilities, often quickly breaking through GFing lines with his prowess. Pj earns a spot on the list.

Anthony: Most people knock him off any list because of how new he is, but I believe he is one of the best blockers in all of NW. While he hasn't been the "player to beat" for most of his career, he always had a A1 defense and it only became better. He handles himself in outnumbered situations with such finesse that I haven't seen in a good amount of time. I'm truly impressed with his development, so Anthony deserves a spot on the list.

Rogelio: Rogelio is a big strong boy with a big strong defense and his masculinity alone is enough to defeat most players. In all seriousness though, Rogelio is a fantastic defensive player and I always found it extremely difficult to take him down as he just refuses to fall. He earns a spot on the list.

HONORABLE MENTIONS:

JackieChan

Clutching
Tammo: In the world of clutching one name comes to mind when thinking of American heroes, and that's SecretTammo. He has consistently been one of the best clutchers in NA throughout his career. In 2012 he was known to single-handily destroy entire lines with the stab of his bayonet, giving him a spot on the list.

KovyJack:Not only is Kovy the 2nd best player to come out of the 2014 New Gen era, but he's also on the best new age clutchers in the game. Kovy"LuckyJack" utilizes a slippery style focused on dodging and sweep stabbing; most find that some otherworldly force protects Kovy from their attacks, earning him a spot on the list.

JackieChan:This man, otherwise known as "HackieChan", is wildly infamous for his ability to clutch. Regiments always hold their breath whenever he is the last man, because everyone knows that a round is never over as long as he's standing.

RitZ:RitZ has always been the 3eVolt's secret weapon, as he has helped carry their regiment for the majority of his career. With feints faster than your frames will allow, RitZ is able to break through a regiment's defenses and cause complete mayhem. He fights to the bitter end and leaves you sweatier than Yoshie.

Mang:It comes to no surprise that Mang's charismatic personality would carry over into his melee ability, and you can count on the fact that everybody noticed. Watching Mang fight while outnumbered is like witnessing a perfect symphony flow as he casually outclasses his opponents.

Lithios:Back when he played, Lithios had a knack for getting out of tight situations; during his days in the 9y it's said Lithios would teleport behind his opponents regiment and whisper into their ears, "omae wa mou shindeiru". After that the regiment seemed to disappear into the thin air.

AP0CALYPSE:Witnessing AP0C clutch is like watching the birth of a storm, he's quiet, does nothing too flashy, most underestimate his potential; then its when you blink your eyes that you realize you're the last man standing and your opportunity to stop him has already escaped.

Breaches:Now, I cannot attest for this man's skill, however, if you close your eyes and listen intently you may hear the whispers of old wives tales going into detail of how this man won against impossible odds.

Blade:What else is there to say? It is well known that Blade and his psychic powers gave him the edge needed to win battles in clutch scenarios. Most say he puts his opponents under a hypnotic gaze with his feints, and then before you have time to react your entire regiment is on the ground.

Maple:There are many stories pubs tell of Maple and his clutches on NA_1, for anytime you saw a sailor charging at you it was best to await for reinforcements or run the opposite direction. It is even rumored he clutched a round using nothing but a ramrod, but those are just rumors after all.

HONORABLE MENTIONS:

Spam
Theodin:In the realm of spamming, one name famously comes to mind: everyone's 2nd favorite Canadian player, Theodin. His downattack is respected and feared no matter how many hours you've acclaimed in the game. He earned the title "Best Spammer in NW" for a reason.

Chev:The man, the myth, the legend. Chev has always been Theodin's biggest rival when it comes to spam, so much so that some even argue his spam is best in the game. All that I know is that Chev truly had one of the most deadly downstabs in all of NW.

Rico:Rico is a name a lot of newer players don't remember, but that is not to say he wasn't memorable. Rico had one of the most annoying playstyles in all of NW during his time, mainly due to his constant spam and skey. The sad part is that his style actual worked in groupfights and duels alike, which is only a testament to his persistence.

Kovy:You all knew this guy would make it on the list. Kovy is a unique player in the sense that he has some of the best footwork in NW, combined with some of the best spam in NW, which in turn creates a huge annoyance for everyone. In fact, most of Kovy's chambers are accidental and are a result of his insistent spamming.

Wastee:This may be a shocker to some of you, but yes, Wastee has made it on the spam list. Everytime you enter a duel with this dude you know for a fact what he's going to do: spam, spam, spam, spam, and spam some more. I think he may not even be aware of how much he spams, as if the bayonet itself is in control of Wastee and his actions.

Fartknocker:The 63e Golden Boy Fartknocker was famous within the 63e for being a key player to their line up, while also being the one to help train cadets. This might explain why all 63e Cadets seem to only know how to spam and nothing else. His infectious spam spread across all the 63e, even seeping up into the higher ranks and affecting players like Krastinov. Be cautious whenever you are near this man.

SuberbPedro:While nowadays he is known to run a mediocre GFing server, back during 2016 Pedro actually had some talent in him, a talent for spam that is. My failed student and son Pedro has a completely random style focused on chambering, feints, and of course, spam. He was one of the best in those areas once upon a time, but his fame was only momentary and he quickly fell into the slums of NW melee.

Jaax:The new-gen Jaax is full of surprises, and one of those surprises being he is a filthy spammer. Anytime you see him in a GFing match just always be cautious of this man's spam because it will catch you off guard every single time if you aren't careful.

Dalai Lamar:If my memory is correct, this man was apart of the 71st regiment, while also being apart of the spammer community. Perhaps the teachings of Theodin rubbed off on him, or perhaps he simply enjoyed being an skey spammer. Whatever the case, while he was active he had some of the best spams NW had to offer.

Sleek:Like his name implies, this hot headed player is slippery to the touch and won't hesitate to spam you if you give him the opening. While his personality is tiresome at it's best, what isn't tiresome is his passion for spamming other players into the next realm.

HONORABLE MENTIONS:
63e Cadet Line
That One Rando
"All he does is spam" Guy

Feinting
Emo Celestia: This guy is basically the poster boy for feinting in NW, and for a good reason. Back when he played he was one of the few players who was praised for his ultra aggressive hyper feint playstyle. For years to come people would associate amazing feints with "Emo Feints".

RitZ: This man's feints are legendary status. His feinting was ultra fast, which was a big factor in his clutching ability. The most important aspect of his feinting thought was the weird angles he would create with the animations to trick even the most veteran of players.

Maple: A player well known for his feints, Maple has used them as a staple for his playstyle during the best years of his career. They have been a great asset in his dueling ability and have broken through the defenses of many skilled players.

Blade: During his years in the 71st he was a very dominant player with very dominating feints. While his specialty was being able to produce some dizzying dolphins, he also had a mesmeric was of feinting that fooled many opponents.

VetroG: Vetro is one of the few new gen players to utilize feints as a core aspect of his style, and he is able to trick the best of the best. He is respected as one of the best players in feinting of recent memory, and while they are not the most layered feints, they are some of the fastest in this list.

Kovyjack: Kovy is top tier when it comes to incorporating feints into his own playstyle. Your eyes would be glued to your monitor while trying to follow his slippery movements combined with his sneaky feints. His feints were not the flashiest, but they were some of the deadliest.

Ritz407: The Senior of Weebdom was infamous for his feints and his very unique playstyle. He created his own move the community called "The Ritz Spin" which earlier on surprised players with its animation. His feints were compressed and focused, giving him a spot on the list.

SuberbPedro: Surely the most autistic player on this list (Possibly in all of NW), my student Pedro promptly had an equally autistic playstyle. Utilizing a high risk high reward(?) playstyle, Pedro would contort and twist his body to do the most ridiculous of feints, which surprisingly worked...half of the time.

Tammo: The NA Golden Boy was notorious for his feints during his time. He mastered them Pre-2013 patch, and during that time they were especially deadly. He would take apart entire pub regiments with his feints while they were still trying to figure out an up-down attack.

Pinoy: I've praised Pinoy before for being one of the most mechanically sound players, and his feinting skill was no exception. He was very entertaining to watch as he would combine his incredibly fast feints with his equally as fast chambers. Anybody who has played against him knows the unpredictability and skill his feints deploy.

Most Average
BabyJ: Without a doubt, the most consistently average player on this game is none other than BabyJ himself. This dude is so mediocre even Theodin can get kills off him. He's so middleline that he could be called the embodiment of the USMC. With all his average skill, this makes him the best average player by far.

BabyG: The destroyer of pubs, the BabyJ slayer, this man goes by many names, however, this does not make him above average. BabyG is the arch nemesis of BabyJ, and their battles fought over who is the most average player is ordinary at best. Truly a name worth mentioning when to comes to okayish performance.

Jakester: This man has a reputation in the community for being a thief, a scoundrel, and of course, an exceptionally average player. While his leading is questionable at best, what isn't questionable is his completely pedestrian skill. This guy is so average he makes Jorge look good on Masters.

Shinto: You knew I had to do it to em, Shinto makes a spot on this list. This player is so lackluster and underwhelming that I was even struggling to put him on the AVERAGE list. Without question Shinto is one of the greats in the realm of mediocrity.

MackCW: Damn, I bet you guy weren't expecting this one, but here it is. I hate to roast my boy Mack, but duty calls and I recognize only the most unmemorable players on this list. Mack has been a key player and a father figure for most players on this game, but absolutely nobody depended on him for his melee skill.

Pickle: I remember this guy way back in 2014, and even then he was nothing short of average. Pickle is one of those players who plays the game for years, but simply cannot attain skill above amateurish levels. His only redeemable values is that he is a slightly above average NA Representative.

Spearman: Yeah that's right, I bet you guys forgot about this guy, which is only a testament to his lack of skill. Spearman has become one of the most forgettable players within the community, hell, the only reason I remembered him is because he was in one of my screenshots. This guy deserves a spot on the list.

Lurvy: I've once described Lurvy as "the gatekeeper of average players"; meaning, if you couldn't beat Lurvy you were without a doubt a completely unremarkable player. While Lurvy's skill ontop of a horse is a list for another time, once he steps down unto the earth he is zapped by the unholy bolt of ordinary.

Getty: Getty of the Nr9 is such an unexciting player to watch. Once upon a time he lead the greatest pub regiment of all time, however due to his middle-of-the-road skill, his regiment would of been worthless if it wasn't for Maple. He is so average the way I joined his regiment was by beating them 1v5 on Roma Oritur, and that was me in 2014.

DanTheChef: What would an average list be without the one and only Dan The Seagull Chef? Since the beginning of this man's career he was nothing but average. He wasn't even bad at any point, he was just always 100% second-rate. His vanilla performance is so forgettable that he has to host tournaments in order to keep himself relevant within the community.

Best Newgens
Yoshie "The Talent": Yoshie is undeniably one of the best players to come out of the new gen era. He uses ultra fast chambers, precise stuns, and great gfing ability. One of his biggest weaknesses, however, is how easily tilted Yoshie becomes when losing or facing adversity.

Maniac "The Aggressor": Now, Maniac has always been a solid player, but it wasn't until recently that he showcased his true skill. His ability to topfrag and put numbers on the scoreboard during a groupfight is better than many. While his dueling is not his strongest, he is still able to compete with any player in a 1v1.

SuberbPedro "The Wildcard": My failed student, Pedro never really did reach his full potential due to him being a huge troll and his issues with internet. That is not to say Pedro isn't an exciting and eventful player to watch though. With a style as unpredictable as his ping, Pedro is always taking huge risks no matter the event, and while the moves he attempts are 50/50, it is legendary when he pulls it off.

Anthony "Ironside": Everyone who stills plays or has played the game in the last year knows how skilled Anthony is at blocking. This ability came out of nowhere and shocked everyone. While sometimes he can be a bit too defensive, he is still a deadly duelist and gfer, who counters/blocks any attack you make.

VetroG "The Flash": Vetro packs the heat with his super quick feints that is bound to get through any defense given the right amount of time. While he is very new to the competitive scene, he is definitely one of the better new gens to come out of this era.

Yoloswag "The Razor": Yolo cuts up the competition with his ultra aggressive style that'll leave you in the dust if you're too slow. Using feint chambers with both the up and down attack, you better keep an eye on his movements unless you wanna take that L.

MATT "Player556": This guy is probably the newest new-gen to ever play, but also one of the best hour for hour players in the game. While he is known to have used exploits/cheats in the past, I believe that they actually held him back and made him worse. He's one of the best for his hours to master stuns and defense.

Cade "The Matrix": Now I believe he was around during the latter years of NW, but he wasn't nearly as impactful was he was during 2016 and beyond. Known for his legendary up chambers, it's almost as if Cade controls the code within NW to get those crazy angles you wouldn't think possible.

Risk "The Underdog": Everyone always seems to be doubting Risk's skill, but he is able to topfrag in many groupfights and give any top duelist a run for their money. While he tends to let the tilt get into his head, once he gets past that it would be in your best interest to take him very seriously, or you might be shocked at the results.

Jaax "The Gamechanger": Another fairly new face to the community, Jaax has proven in recent years that he is able to compete at the very top with everyone else. He used holds, sweep stabs, and expert footwork to gain the edge over his opponent; which usually ends up with him at the top of the scoreboard.

Best Weebs
Lawbringer(King): The King Weeb himself, yes, this man is notorious for being the King of all the weebs in NW (Yes even for the depraved EU players). Some say he learned everything he knows from anime, which is cringe.

Moraine(Prince): The Prince of Weebdom, Moraine has long been a name in the NW anime community. He is so weeb that he refers to a certain player as "senpai" and he owns a bodypillow.

Unitator(Duke): The Duke of Weebdom, Unitator is a new face to NW, but he has long been invested into anime...there is an ongoing competition between him and Moraine for the title of Prince, but so far Moraine remains in the lead.

Yoshie(Marquis): The Marquis of Weebdom, this freak known as Yoshie is obsessed with 2D drawings of 16 year old girls. Friends of his say he tries to speak japanese in teamspeak and that it is very cringe to witness. He's also the strongest NW weeb as well though.

Yoloswag(Earl): The Earl of Weebdom, Yoloswag is actually a weeb in denial. He doesn't publicly speak about his affliction, however, those close to him know of his perverted ways. He also tries to act black a lot.

Runepkyz(Noble): A Nobleman in Weebdom, Rune is also quite private about his illness, but that doesn't stop him from flooding his steam library with games about cute anime girls.

Achilles(Knight): A Knight of Weebdom, Achilles has been fighting for the weebs for as long as NW itself was alive, and while he stayed hidden under covers for a while, he revealed his true nature toward the peak of his NW career. I'm pretty sure all he does is play anime romance games now.

RitZ407(Senior): A Senior of Weebdom, this old dog was one of the first to be by King Lawbringer's side, and also one of his closet friends. He fought for weeb rights long before people knew how to perform his infamous spin.

Saltyy(Elder): The Elder of Weebdom, Saltyy is an ancient weeb who was here before most of the people on this list. He was the first generation of weeb, and helped start their infection. Some say he is hibernating so that he may store his power for when the weebs need him most.

Risk(Agent): The Double Agent of Weebdom, Risk has infiltrated NW as a seemingly normal guy, only the best of the Weeb Slayers would be able to identify his true nature. He has managed to convince all of NW that he is a Weeb Slayer, while in fact he is the very thing you aim to destroy.

Biggest Rivalries
-----------------------------------------------------------Player Rivalries-----------------------------------------------------------

Maple vs BillTheButcher
This is a rivalry that started during the early years of 2015. At first, Maple and Bill were on good terms, they were even friendly with each other. This all ended when Maple faced off against Bill in a ft7 for the CplFoP spot in the Nr37, which Maple won. Bill was so enraged that he left the Nr37 and for the next 3 years would challenge Maple to ft7s. After every loss Bill faced, his anger only grew, and grew, until he would eventually accuse Maple of hacks/glitching. The notoriety of the rivalry exploded after Maple beat Bill in a tournament (2016) 7-6 that was recorded for everyone to see. After 9 wins for Maple and 0 for Bill, the rivalry seemed over, but one day in 2017 Maple accepted a ft7 request from Bill during a tournament, Maple lost 7-4 and would continue to loss the next couple ft7s the had over 2017-2019. The rivalry simply faded out as both players devoted less and less time to the game.

Godfried vs AsianP
There 2 HoF players had their bout during the years of 2017-2018. During that time, Godfried was considered the best duelist in NA, with nobody to rival him...until AsianP came along. This was a friendly rivalry, with no spitefulness between the two players, as they both had a mutual respect for each other and their skill. They both used a fairly similar play style focused on block chambering and defense, however, Godfried did have an edge over AsianP when it came defense, which even Asian himself acknowledged. They would both ft7 each other, sometimes for fun, sometimes officially, and while they were close, Godfried would overall win more ft7s than Asian. Probably their most famous ft7, and maybe one of the most famous ft7s in a finals tournament, AsianP lost to Godfried with a 6-0 lead, which only showed how closely matched these two were. It ended fairly even, with AsianP stating he believed their official ft7 record was somewhere along the lines of "7-4". A very wholesome rivalry with a wholesome ending.

VetroG vs Suns
The Vetro verse Suns rivalry was one of the most personal, longest lasting beefs NW has ever seen. It had lots of beef with family, groupfighting, and most of all over who was better in the competitive scene. Suns was determined to ft7 Vetro anytime and anywhere. The rivalry lasted from early 2017 to late 2018 with over 30 ft7's between the two and multiple groupfights determining who was the better player. Suns was known for his Chicago "Drill" rap terms and his aggressive trolling style, and Vetro was known for his high pitched screaming, chaotic breakdowns, and mental explosions. It was determined if Suns and Vetro were ever in the same Teamspeak, server, or thread on FSE a roast battle would break out talking about regiment hopping, ft7's, and who was worse at groupfighting.

RitZ vs JackieChan
This heated rivalry started in the dawn of 2013 as the two players were ranked #1 in their respective regiments. It is well known that RitZ was the golden boy on the 3eVolt during its earlier years, while Jackie was the consensus #1 player in the 12th (as well as arguably NW). Their rivalry was a microcosm of the 12th vs 3eVolt, which was the very cause for their competition in the first place. While I'm not sure on any official scores on ft7s or duels, I do remember being in the server with both of them and watching them ft7 (Jackie won, but I'm not sure of the score, I think it was 7-4). Obviously this wasn't a competition for best player NA (although of course RitZ was a top 5 player in 13/14), but it was an entertaining feud as RitZ playstyle would catch Jackie off guard with his turkish kicks and fast feints.

Alexander vs Mang
Mang vs Alex rivalry was a classic battle between two great NA players. The rivalry was from 2014-2015 and only grew more intense as time went on. These guys were in their prime during this time as top 20 players on NA. They would often duel each other on the 5th teamspeak while a crowd listens to the two go at each other. With Alex’s passive style against Mang’s aggressive style it made up quite a matchup that you didn’t want to miss. The matches were so close that almost every duel would result in a 7-5 or 7-6 score. The rivalry ended later in 2015 when Mang quit the game. There was never a clear winner in this rivalry however, it was still one of the greatest dueling matchups in NA history.

-----------------------------------------------------------Regimental Rivalries-----------------------------------------------------------

12th vs 3eVolt
The rivalry between the 12th & 3eVolt occured in most of 2013 and part of 2014. 3eVolt was led by the notorious leader and reverse column innovator, Grimsight; while the 12th was lead by the cult of personality, Tico. During 2013 the 12th were considered the best regiment in the game due to their vastly superior and advanced melee players which were the backbone of their success. 3eVolt on the other hand was inferior in melee, but had a few star players during the time to give them the edge over the other regiments below them. Their rivalry was essentially 3eVolt trying to take the throne from the 12th, but with little to no success. While 3eVolt has only beat them once out of all the times they have faced, they were still the only regiment in NW who could even come close to being their competitors. Generally it went as follows: Tico/Breaches attempt to get into melee as fast as possible, while Grimsight moves from one hill to the next. To be fair, it was the smartest move he could do since in a straight up brawl they would most certainly lose. 2013 is considered to be the "Golden Age" of NW, and its no surprise why when you had these two powerful regiments clashing toe to toe together.

Nr.8 Leib-Grenadier "LG" vs 3eVolt
The 3eVolt, LG rivalry was without a doubt the biggest of 2017 and perhaps the most heated and toxic one of all time. Both had all-star players and several leagues and tournament wins to their name already. It was sure to be a clash of two titans and it was. The 3eVolt and LG traded wins in groupfights throughout the early parts of the rivalry. However, the 3eVolt took the first big win in Season 1 of RGL, winning 25-19. With any rivalry the shit talk came from both sides. But as many know this rivalry became extremely toxic with not just casual shit talk and banter, but many personal attacks from the LG toward certain members of the 3eVolt, including doxxing some individuals. The rivalry became extremely heated and even bigger, as well as divided a big part of the competitive community. The LG would go on to win the next big league, NAPL, 7-3 over the 3eVolt. It cannot go unstated that the 45e had merged into the LG during the playoffs of the league after the 3eVolt had defeated the LG 7-3 in the regular season stage. It is called into question for the LG but is a title nonetheless. The rivalry soon died down after the end of NAPL and it was put to an end with the 3eVolt name changing in late 2017 and the LG disbanding in early 2018. However, the rivalry came to an official close when the final iteration of the 3eVolt grabbed another title over the LG in NWGL, winning 6-5 in overtime, before disbanding and many of its members joining the LG. With everything aside, this rivalry always brought intense matches and put the community's best against each other, making it one of the best all of time.

71st vs 63e
The 71st vs 63e rivalry was a traditional dichotomy - complete clash of styles. You had the autocratic, structured 63e with all that discipline and structure vs the looser, relaxed aggressive melee heavy 71st, and Cheesey and Karth were diametrically opposites in terms of personality, leadership style, and tactics. The 63e were undoubtedly the best shooting regiment ever while that 71st was utterly dominant meleewise - every round would start with the 63e picking off 3-4 guys from spawn and then the regs would dance around the map until the melee engagement where the 71st would always have to battle back from serious deficits. It was a great rivalry because it showcased the best of both styles, and it was so incredibly even, with a level of regimental parity at the very highest level that is just rarely seen in competitive NW.

63e vs 58e
The 58e-63e rivalry began in early 2015 whereas a string of ties under intense debate lead to a competitive arms race between the two. Karth eventually banned matches between the two regiments until his departure from the community mid 2015. Under Offizer and Curtis Shuttler, matches once again resumed between the two. Eventually a number of the 63e guard company switched sides to the 58e which sparked further divide between the two, culminating to the 2015 Season 5 NANWL match in which the newly christened 91st regiment of foot went head to head with a 63e powered by the recently disbanded 71st in a 80 man 1v1. Once again this was fought to a draw. The 63e never did another match against the 58e or it's future iterations ever again.

22e vs 5th
The Rivalry was a short lived one that was extremely intense during its tenure. 22e, known as 1stFG at the time, was tied for first with the 5th in league 2. The tension for the ultimate league 2 match up grew all the way up to June 30th. Before the match both regiments were just enemies with no hard feelings for each other. However, during the match both regiments took jabs at each other left and right as the 1v1 was going on. It got so bad that even Deg became a victim of the trash talking from the 5th because of the bad admining. The last round the 5th won it but got a point reduced for trash talking Deg so the match became a tie instead of a 6-4 win for the 5th. The 5th was furious and after this match both regiments would trash talk each other anytime they meet on NW or teamspeak for the next 2 months. The 5th ended up getting the last laugh by winning League 2 thanks to the Infamous tie the 22e got from the 111e.

Best Canadians

----------RANKED----------

|1|Godfried: Yes, I believe Godfried is the best Canadian player to ever come out of NW. Only a handful of players have been completely dominant in dueling, and even less for the amount of time he was dominant. While his groupfighting isn't Super Star levels like Russian, or Jackie, he was good enough to make an impact and be within top 20 during his time, not to mention he was so good at dueling that his ability to groupfight is often overlooked by many. Truly the GOAT Canada player, he could beat any other player in this list in a ft7.

|2|Yoshie: Taking the second spot is Yoshie, and I feel like this may be controversial since he is "newer" to the game than some of the older players on this list. Yoshie started to become a top player near the latter years of 2016, and he only got better from there as he quickly became one of the best groupfighters of the modern NW era. His skill with chambering and his ability to adapt kept him in the top league with other players, and he was able to be relatively consistent in those areas. His dueling ability is also nothing to shy away from as he has been within the top 10 if not top 5 duelists in NW for a large majority of his prime years. One of the best to come out of the newgen era.

|3|Lithios: This should be no surprise to most, as Lithios has always been a name being brought up whenever considering the top Canadian players, even the top NW players to have touched the game. During his time he was one of the premier duelists/groupfighters in an era of heavy competition and a very large player pool. Being in the 9y he was their top player alongside Pointblank, with them both often top fragging during linebattles and groupfights. Jackie noted that Lithios was one of the players who gave him trouble when first coming into NA, which is high praise not normally given.

|4|Who-: The 12th/18th star makes it in at #4, but it was a tough match-up between him and the #5 player. Who- was one of the best groupfighters of his time, with most agreeing he was top 5 for a large portion of his career. He was even able to stand about among the other stars in the 12th such as Jackie, Tammo, and Ghost, which is no easy task. His dueling skill was top tier as well, for he was able to compete with the aforementioned named and give them a run for their money. A close call between him and #5, but I believe he was just an edge better in groupfighting.

|5|Krastinov: The closet furry and raging metrosexual Krastinov finally makes a top 5 list, I know we were all waiting for it. In all seriousness, Krastinov has always been a big name when it came to melee, a lot of it due to him being one of the carry players in the 63e, as well as training a lot of the Grds within that regiment. His groupfighting and dueling were top notch, and he never resorted to being a meta slave to get the job done. A great player with a not-so-great temper, Krastinov made the cut with flying colors.

|6|Zorkoth: Now, this guy was a little bit of a spastic, but that hasn't stopped him from being consistently one of the best groupfighters in NW no matter what year he is playing in. He was able to carry all the regiments he joined in some form or another, and his unique playstyle gave him that edge over the other players. His dueling was nothing too spectacular, but It is noted that he was able to clutch a 1v2 against Lithios & Pointblank during a 2v2 tournament, both being some of the best duelists during that time. His spot at 6 is well deserved I don't think there is anything more to say about it.

|7|Hellomoto: This guy was a gem for the short time he was dominant, hence why he is number 7 on the list. I feel though he may be as skilled as some of the other higher rated players on this list, his consistency and dominance was not as lengthy as the others. In his prime he was truly able to compete with most players, but I fail to remember any meaningful tournaments or ft7s he has won (This could be my fault entirely). I remember him having an aggressive playstyle, which was the norm during his time, and he was able to pull it off with much success.

|8|Theodin: Come on, you all knew he was making the list, there should be no surprises here, other than the fact that he may be able to switch spots with #9 depending on who you ask. Theodin was a very skilled duelist and groupfighter during 2015, his ability to downspam was unmatched and he would catch even the strongest of players with it. He was not very dominant for long, but I remember it took everything from me to beat him in duels as his spam playstyle was very tricky to work around if you weren't careful. A true Canadian lad and a true player, Theodin makes the cut.

|9|Maccle: Now, Maccle was not a top player during his earlier years of 2012-15, but latter in his career he did become of the top players in NW. He was a very accomplish duelist and groupfighter, and I feel like him and Theodin are pretty much tied in terms of ability in their respective primes. I gave Maccle #9 since I think Theodin had more of an impact in melee during his time than Maccle had. I could be wrong and you could very easily swap the two.

|10|Ritz407: It was kind of tough to get a #10 because some of the honorable mentions could take this spot, but ultimately I gave it to the Senior of Weebdom, Ritz407. He was not very active for long, I barely remember seeing him on when I would play, but he has more competitive success than the other HM in this list. He was very slippery and fluid during his active periods, and had a similar playstyle to Kovyjack, a player well known for his footwork. He even has a move named after him: "The Ritz Spin"; you can't get much better than that. I think its deserved as he was well respected by other players and most say him as a threat in a groupfight or duel.

Most Influential
-----------------------------------------------------------Community Influence-----------------------------------------------------------

Karth:
What else do I have to say? He is one of the most well-known and notorious figures in NW, and really needs no explanation. He lead the largest regiment of all time and did the most out of any player when it came to promoting the game and bringing new players into it. Yes, most of these players did not go into the comp scene, but his impact among other things make him one of the most influential.

Windflower:
Some of you love him, some of you hate him but you can't deny Windflower has been a helping hand in the community. From leading the well-known PSG and 30th to helping run NANWL for multiple seasons, and starting the popular NWDL that lasted for 3 seasons; he has been an impactful person for the community over the years. And probably most of your threads, signatures or headers were done by the man himself.

Tico:
The original cult of personality in NW, Tico's followers are fanatics that will revive themselves from the dead if it meant they could serve once more. His influence on the 12th is well known, but what is not widely remembered is that he hosted the Renegade Army teamspeak, which at various times consisted of the Nr37, 9te, 54th, 15th York and 14th Buckinghamshire. His mentorship of these regiments has created perhaps the most extensive influence tree in NW and his impact is still felt today. As well, he is credited along with Jackie and Zzehth with creating NANWL.

Label:
Label is known by everyone in NW due to one important reason: he hosted and payed for the biggest competitive server in NW. NA GF has been the training and breeding ground for almost every player in NW; a place where you could hone both your dueling and groupfighting skill. He has also hosted RGL S1 and been an admin for many servers.

DanTheChef:
Everybody's favorite meme lord, Dan has had a huge influence on the longevity and health of this community. He biggest accomplishments have been hosting many events to keep the community fresh all the way since late 2015. He has hosted so many tournaments that I can't list them all, but his most notable are NAPL and weekly 2v2s. He has kept the game fresh and alive (for better or worse).

Thunderstormer:
This guy has been apart of NW since it's conception, and he has most definitely been one of the most important figures during its time. He was the head admin for NA1, the largest pub server of all time, as well as being apart of and admining many pub events. Thunder also wrote some of the code for NWs later 2017-18 patches (Revive, healing, etc.) which provided a huge boost to pub events. It should also be noted that he is one of the most respected FSE mods on here.

Jorge:
You knew he was going to show up at some point. Jorge has being the driving force in the NW competitive seen for its later years; he has hosted TNWL and WPC in 2017-18. He was the only player to seriously try to take NW to a some-what esport level. He started the current foundations for the draft leagues today and played a great host and commentator for many livestreams.

JackieChan:
Other than being a superstar player, Jackie also played a massive role in the early parts of the NW community. He is credited with the idea of starting and hosting the first couple seasons of NWL, as well as being the driving force in the rise of NA competition. He was like the grandfather of all of NW, spreading his wisdom and knowledge to those who listened.

CommissarJDF:
JDF is on here for being the one who created and drove forward the USMC/BBG. As we all know, BBG has been the only thing keeping the pub side of NW alive, with its different servers giving much needed life to the game. If it wasn't for BBG, all of NW would probably be a barren wasteland with only the remaining comp players stroking the fire. His contribution to this community cannot be a understatement in a time when the playerbase was struggling.

Coconut:
Coconut is the living NW encyclopedia (sorry theo). He was the first to attempt to codify the history of NW into a coherent webpage, as well as being one of the most knowledgeable players in the game. His wiki was the first step to remembering the thousands of hours put into the game, and the amount of work it must of took is incredible. He has also hosted events throughout the early years of NW that were hugely successful and pushed the trend forward.

-----------------------------------------------------------Melee Influence-----------------------------------------------------------

Tammo:
NA's golden boy; Tammo was the first player in NA to really showcase what it actually meant to be a good player. In 2012/13 there are stories of him destroying regiments in 1vXs simply because he was so far ahead of everyone else at that time. He was known as one of the best duelists in NA, and was really the Jackie before Jackie came along. He was the ideal to strive towards for every player that was just getting into the game, and he spread what he knew with all those around him. Even when he came back in 2015/16 he was still a force to be reckoned with and proved his skill wasn't simply a product of a by-gone era.

JackieChan:
This man's influence on the competitive scene of this game is remarkable. He came over from EU and taught many of the NA players advanced mechanics and tactics in both dueling and groupfighting. He made a handful of videos and threads explaining almost EVERYTHING in regards to mechanics and gameplay, which aiding many new and experienced players. He is the only player in NW history to be considered both the best duelist and groupfighter at the same time for a solid 2 years. He was absolutely dominant and ahead of the curve in every conceivable way. If it wasn't for him NW might have had a lot of catch-up to play in the earlier years.

Maple:
Maple is known by all to be the most handsome and well liked player in NW, as well as the father of all new gens. He is regarded as the top duelist during the 15-16 era, with only a handful of players able to compete with him in that section. During that era Maple utilized a playstyle with a heavy emphasis on chambers, blockchambers, and stuns. Most of the community was unfamiliar with what stuns/blockchambers were and how to perform them, which lead to a meta change that is still evident today. Maple taught many players on how to perform this mechanic and was the driving figure in popularizing it within the meta. Once people learned themselves, they taught others, who taught others, until it branched out to all of the comp scene. He also lead the undefeated regiment 41stWelsh.

Godfried
The best Canadian in NW, Godfried was the consensus #1 duelist for all of 2017-18. During his reign he was almost untouchable, with only a handful of players coming close to threating his dominance in the dueling scene. The patch of 2017 slowed down melee, which made it favorable to use a more passive playstyle when it came to dueling, making Godfried's passive/aggressive playstyle something all players wanted to imitate. If Maple started the stun meta, Godfried put the nail in the coffin. Many players tried to emulate Godfried's style, but many didn't have the technical skill to truly pull it off, which led to them simply being extremely passive and block heavy. Because of this dueling took the backseat while groupfighting rose to being the preferred way to play NW. Even after Godfried left the scene his impact is still visible today.

RussianFury:
If you've been playing NW anytime since 2017, you should already know why this guy is on this list. Russian revolutionized groupfighting for the better during 2017 and achieved levels of dominance not seen since the days of Jackie. He was the most dominant groupfighter during the 2017-19 era, with other close contenders (Why do I hear a french-canadian accent behind me?). Every player began to watch him and echo his ultra aggressive  style, which led to groupfighting taking the foreground in NWs competitive scene. He has become a household name in the world of great NW players and his legacy has impacted most if not all current players.
