biggest sleeper pick of the first round in 2017 draft

That draft had a lot of solid players later in that first round. Kuzma, Jarrett Allen, John Collins, Derrick White, Josh Hart. Even Donovan Mitchell and Bam Adebayo were late lottery.

Also a really good group of second rounders.

Nobody would talk about Kuzma if he wasn't in LA, people were really comparing him to Tatum not that long ago

I agree that he was overhyped due to being a Laker but he is still a good player especially at where he was drafted.

He was the most overhyped/overrated player in that draft but I'm surprised he went that late in the round I thought he was picked a lot earlier, I still take OG over him and mostly everybody in that round except the top 5 and Adebayo/Mitchell/Collins... but yeah he's not the best pick of that draft but the biggest sleeper for sure.

I take him over Markelle Fultz all day too lemao

But would you take him at #1?
no

Would I trade away multiple picks to trade up to get him at 1? No

Would I trade markelle away two years later for jonathon simmons and a 2nd? No

Would I trade away young talent and picks for jimmy butler and Tobias Harris to win a championship? Maybe

Would I then not resign jimmy only to overpay Tobias Harris and AL FUCKING HORFORD??? No

This draft is gonna be crazy. I feel like there’s no consensus on anything.

I think my top five rn is:

Anthony Edwards
Lamelo Ball
James Wiseman
Tyrese Haliburton
Obi Toppin

Honestly it’s so tough to judge. I think Killian Hayes can even jump into the top five. I’m pretty high on Haliburton. I think he can be Dejounte Murray with better playmaking. Obi needs to improve his defense otherwise he’s gonna get cooked like he’s Jahlil Okafor. Wiseman I’m not even sure is even the best center anymore. He’s a prototypical dude you’d see at the top of a draft tho. Him not playing the full season in college gives me less to look at. I think depending on need, Lamelo can easily be the first pick. Dudes playmaking is on another level compared to the rest of the draft. He also has crazy size for a point guard and if he ever fixes his shot he can be elite. Anthony Edwards is the safest pick in the whole draft I think. Dude just looks like an NBA player.
