Just a question about rule 12
« on: November 28, 2013, 06:16:05 pm »
So, as long as we follow the rules of 86a STGB, we'll be fine or?

Because as some may know, it's still allowed to show imagery/mention previous items associated with Nazi Germany in a historical context, or one to show art etc according to 86a STGB.

Or is it a complete ban on all things related to Nazi Germany and to National Socialism on the forums in general?

It's not talking about it, its a question.

I just don't like seeing history sweeped under the carpet like it never happened.

Anyhow i was referring to imagery, not neccesarily discussion as that is clearly not allowed according to rule 12.

Depends on the context of said picture. Also, if you edit or cut out any hateful images things should be good to go. Just PM a moderator with the picture and ask if it is cool to be safe.

Example: A picture of a German Panzer unit on the march or Elite Guard standing outside a government building is fine. Anything like the Nuremberg Parades or Death Camp related is too strong.

Aren't we trying to spread awareness of the horrible things at the time, not repress them?

If it wont be remembered, why think about new wars. I can't imagine what is happening in syria and these lands. They just can't stop it. If they think more about the cruel times of old, I don't want to see a new World war.

No; as Nurdbot said, we're putting emphasis on that we want and expect users to check in with moderators if they wish to post images or other content relating to such topics. Even if there is the slightest doubt,  it will be much better if you make sure with the moderators.

I'm not sure if this is already covered or not but would it be possible to see an additional addendum covering the far-left as well as the far-right? Extremism is extremism, after all.

Eh, it seems fair. Stalin did as many horrid things as Hitler.

So posting images of Russian gulags would be just as bad as posting images from nazi death camps

We've already discussed this . . . . I would look at the moderators (I believe it was Reje's) conclusion on the matter.
