Well, as you have read from the title, I will be talking about a new mod for Napoleonic Wars. I am new to map making, however I still do it. I have been requested from a lot of people from the Napoleonic Roleplay Server (I'm admin on it) to make a massive Town RP map. However, if a few skillfull people would volounteer to put some time and effort into a mod with me, it would be greatly appreciated. I am like for scripters etc. I can make the maps myself but I need more people to make this mod succesful. The idea of the mod is, to make this like Persistant World, but in the Napoleonic Wars era and slightly different. Yes you would have money to buy things like food and weapons etc. But, let's say for an example, in PW and PF, you need to pay if you want to trian to be a soldier and you need to buy your own weapons. In this mod, when you train to be that soldier (which would be for free) you would get the weapons and uniform instantly for free. Because, some people find it very annoying when they get shot after they have just spent loads of money on weapons and armour and they just lose it. So, I have loads of ideas like these but I have quite a big one, about housing. When you have enough money, you can go to a vendor/shop, and buy a house. Then which you have a house number and you receive the keys to your new home. It would have lots of things like a piano and a fireplace (the fireplace would have some options as well) and of course a bed. These are just little things designed to make the mod better. There would be also lots more features like farming (including a house there), church sermons, duels and much more. There would be a faction for Highwaymen as well so when you train to be one of them, you get your clothes and a bandana and depending on your class, a musket or a pistol or a horse or a sword, lots of different things. This is just a brief overview of what I had in mind in order to make a successful mod. However, for this I would need willing volounteers to help me. One question: Would there be pre-existing factions such as the British and the French which you could pledge allegiance to. I don't really play PW but I know you could create and join faction (I think)

Nice feature ideas... but they are just ideas and you are looking for a complete team now, to get your ideas done, right?
I think there are 3 NW coders in this forum, which are actually able to get such stuff working, but all of them are working on their own mod/games.
If I can see correct, your team consist of researchers at the moment... :o
I have to be pessimistic again, so I am not sure, if this is working out well. Anyway.. good luck with your ideas! I will have a look again in 6 months for an update :)

Yes at the start of each round/server the pre-made factions will be UK and France and more. Though there will be more choices when you make a faction so you can pick a banner and rename the faction.

Looking at their thread, it seems to be a certain DJFappaFly. Well, best of luck to him. This sounds like quite a lot of stuff to code :P .

Yea, wish the coder guy good luck +100, he is in for quite a ride judging by your ambitions.
It would probably be best to start with only the most basic features (like proper server config, coding spawning rules, factions, money) and when they're polished and bugfree start working up.
You should probably keep this as open as possible and then eventually you could end up receiving some help in code, mod like this one requires knowing all the corners of module system.
If you want to reduce ambitions you could go for simpler scripted RP server with coding done server side only so it is compatible with native NW clients, which means anyone could join and play without downloading and installing mod.

Something that might be cool to implement in this mod would be different facing colors on the British uniforms, I guess you could do it the way PF does it with the base tunic and then the facings are worn like a jacket?

Yes we will do a few regiments but we can't change the colour on every uniform completely because that would be an insane amount of work for coders and maybe even for the map makers like myself

How about you have to have a bayonet has a separate weapon and you can't fix one to your musket with out it

Guys, unless I don't get a proper coder the mod is dead, I have had 2 but none of them actually do any work or respond to me :( I have made a few maps but I'm afraid if I don't get a coder quick then I'm sorry guys :'(
