like its gone from book 4 to book 5/6 in a season
I honestly don't understand why they're rushing it along so fast. Especially considering this series is a huge cash cow for HBO (hell, its their highest rated series of all time, I doubt they would cancel it anytime soon). So why are they rushing when there is no pressure and 5 tonnes of material to work off of?
It's for multiple reasons:
1. D&D said they want to do other stuff too and even though GoT is their baby they have other plans for the future in a different genre.
2. The actors have other projects to do, for a lot of them it was the launch into hollywood business (Emilia Clarke, Gwendoline Christie, Kit Harrington, etc)
3. They have a lot of child actors in the series, their natural aging process plays against their role in the series.
4. The more they drag out the series the more they risk losing viewers.
